Feeling just so blessed, grateful… and refreshed!

The first live Motherhood Aligned Workshop on Core Values was just… 💕so good.

We, as all of God’s children, are wonderfully and fearfully made (Psalm 139:14). As such, we have core values that are unique to us as individuals. If we don’t deliberately try to discern and realize what our values are, it is very easy to just adopt the values of the world, those around us, and even of our husband and children. Most people, in fact, may not even know what their own core values are.

What healing it was to gather, share stories of our past that have made impressions on our hearts… and from those stories, begin to discern the core values that live deep within us, as mothers… and as women.

As we began to sift through our experiences, the values that have always been at the center of our selves began to emerge. We started to see which ones may have been put away on a dusty shelf in the busy our daily lives.

From here, we will look to bring those core values back to life. Next workshop will be spent creating action steps to move our core values back into play in our lives. When our core values are being lived out, we move toward much greater fulfillment .

*We all know the big things God tells us to avoid right? Lying, cheating, stealing...

*But did you know that the Bible tells us more than 100+ times 'Do Not Worry' (fear, be anxious)?

*I don't know about you, but that sure sounds like a pretty big commandment from God.

*Here's the cool thing... He clearly lays out in Philippians what we ARE to do instead:

1) Come to him in earnest prayer and 'present our requests to him'

2) Thank him for what he HAS done in the past, and what he has YET to do in the future

3) Then, park our minds on GOOD things throughout the day- think about what is pure, lovely, right, true, beautiful

*Sure sounds like God wants us to live in a gratitude mindset, doesn't it? And we know that thinking this way actually rewires our brains!

*Let's follow God's command today. He's so good.

"For I am fearfully & wonderfully made," Psalm 134:19

*How often do we remember that *WE* are fearfully & wonderfully made? With all the hats we wear, from mother to wife to employee to boss to business owner to stay at home mom...
It's easy to lose who God made US to be so many decades ago.

*Moms, if you were given 2 days, or even 2 glorious hours, to do whatever you wanted, wherever you wanted, what would you do?

*Sometimes we truly forget who that little girl is that God made, oh so long ago... what thing used to light her up? What activity used to bring her laughter? What place used to feed her soul?

*Let's find that little girl, for just a little bit... let's remember who God so WONDERFULLY made

*I challenge you to live into that girl this day, this week, and this season:

1) Do something that lights YOU up TODAY..is it a shower with the radio on? Painting your toenails? Having a huge bowl of strawberry ice cream?

2) Do something that lights YOU up THIS WEEK... is it a trip to the bookstore for a glorious hour? Is it a trip to Target... alone? Is it a movie that YOU have been wanting to see?

3) Do something that lights YOU up this season... is it a trip to the beach with your girlfriends? Is it creating a space in your house for just you to rest in? Is it a special date night with your husband?

Let's allow ourselves to remember who it was that God so fearfully & wonderfully made... a few decades ago.

Let's go back to before we had any titles...

*before we were 'wife'

*before we were 'mom'

*before we were 'you fill in the blank....'

Let's remember that WE were fearfully and wonderfully made, knit together by God with all the quirks and goodness that make us... us!

Let's go back & discover what made us come alive... and start living into THAT GIRL again.

Amen.

Scripture reminds us that there is a spiritual limit to our role as parents.
We plant.
We nurture.
We pray.

But ultimately, God brings the growth.

1 Corinthians 3:6–7 (NLT)
“I planted the seed in your hearts, and Apollos watered it, but it was God who made it grow.

Surrender in parenting isn’t giving up.
It’s placing what we love into hands far more capable than our own.

Stepping back doesn’t mean God steps away.

Often, it’s when we loosen our grip
that God’s work becomes clearer —

both in our children
and in us.
