I’m often asked “why don’t you start your hunts in October like everyone else?”…my reply is simple. …Exhibit A. The timber rattlesnake is currently in birthing season (Aug.-Sept) and is one of the last venomous snakes in our area to find its winter den (weather dependent mid-Oct. to early Nov.). Our dog’s safety is priority.
