There has never been a better time to be a Philadelphia sports fan. Not because championships are guaranteed. They never are. That's not how sports work, and it's certainly not how Philadelphia works. It's because, for the first time in a generation, all four franchises have given this city something priceless: legitimate belief they can do something special.
The Eagles are chasing redemption with a roster still built to compete for another Super Bowl. The Phillies have been revitalized under Don Mattingly, and with the trade deadline approaching, it feels like they're a couple bold moves away from becoming baseball's most dangerous team. The 76ers didn't just improve, they shook the basketball world, going all-in with an offseason that culminated in bringing Jaylen Brown and LeBron James to Philadelphia. And after finally ending a decade-long drought by winning a playoff series, the Flyers look like a team that has found its identity and is only getting started.
Philadelphia has always been a city that demands everything from its teams because it gives everything in return. We don't celebrate hype. We celebrate heart. We celebrate resilience. We celebrate the willingness to get back up after getting knocked down.
