Week 11 of our GRIT Baseball Player Spotlight Series 🚨

#9 Daniel Wagers aka Daniel 🤣

No nickname for Daniel and he does NOT like his name being shortened to Dan!!😂 This kid here is about as dominant of a presence on the mound as they come! The main thing we like about Daniel is his poise on the mound. No matter what happens, Daniel keeps a level head and continues to control what he can control, and he excels at that. Also, he HITS SPOTS!! As a pitcher, it’s important to not just throw strikes, but to be efficient and effective with your strike placement and Daniel is allllll over it!! This is his first season with GRIT Baseball and we’ve enjoyed having him and growing with him over the course of the season.

This season, Daniel has been super effective on the mound!! In 19.1 innings, he’s amassed 13 K’s and is looking to add more. A lot of what Daniel does well isn’t necessarily shown on the stat sheet. Limiting base runners, keeping runners honest, shortening leads, and picking off base runners, and not to mention he has THE BEST attitude of our entire pitching staff!!

At the plate, Daniel has worked his way up the lineup through hard work and great AB’s. He is selective at the plate, watches the bad ones, fouls off the tough ones, and mashes the good ones. We are excited for him to climb his numbers up even more in our last few games of the season!

Week 10 of our GRIT Baseball Player Spotlight Series 🚨

#10 Andre Labelle aka Drew💥

Drewwww!! This kid is an absolute presence on the mound! Not only does he have some nasty stuff from the left side, he can also reach back and give you some gas every now and then! He’s excellent at limiting baserunners and not to mention has a NASTY knuckleball from the left side 🤯 Simply put, our team wouldn’t as be as competitive as we are without having Drew apart of it.

This season, Drew is starting off hot!! In 15.2 innings, he’s got just a 2.68 ERA with 10 K’s, and opponent batting average of just .247, and a whopping 20 runners left on base! 😱

Not only is this kid an absolute DAWG on the bump, but he’s shown some solid improvement in the field and in the batters box! Additionally, we’ve noticed a different energy he’s been bringing to practice. As a matter of fact, I told him last night we’ve noticed him stepping up and locking in at practice and we’re seeing it translate on the field!

Looking forward to continue seeing big things from Drew in his first season in 13u🙌

Week 9 of our GRIT Baseball Player Spotlight Series 🚨

#13 Landon Steen aka Lando💥

Anotherrrr utility player that shines at multiple positions! Landon is gonna give you his all whether that be at shortstop, the outfield, behind the dish, or on the bump. This kid loves to work on his craft and it’s showing each week! 📈

This is Landon’s first season with GRIT Baseball and he’s already been contributing in our lineup! With a batting average of .308 at this point, he’s steadily been creeping that number higher and higher each weekend. But once we get him on base, that’s where he does some major damage! Neck and neck with another player to be the fastest on the team 👀 he has used that speed to swipe 5 bags this season with a 100% stolen base percentage 🤯 and not to mention receiving the golden glove a couple times already this season!

Lando is so much fun to have around and he’s been a great addition to the GRIT family! Always a positive attitude, always smiling, and always coachable. Landon is always looking to improve on the little (and big) things that set him apart from other ballplayers and that is something that is absolutely invaluable to a baseball coach. 😤

Expecting to continue seeing big things from Lando in his first season in 13u🙌

Week 8 of our GRIT Baseball Player Spotlight Series 🚨

#3 Easton Rosenstrom aka E 💥

This one is so easy to write, Easton has come suchhhh a long way over the past few seasons with GRIT!! There were times where his confidence was shaken but he has completely turned his ship around. All of our coaching staff, fans, players, and family have seen the improvements he’s been making not just with his performance, but with several other aspects as well and we are extremely proud of this young man! 🙌

E is starting off hot this season! Contributing to GRIT Baseball's success in several categories including AVG (.333), leading the team in stolen bases with 7(!!), and holding it down out in center field all season! Batting from both sides AND throwing from both sides 🤯 Easton has received the coveted golden glove numerous times this season already as well!! (given to the player that makes an outstanding defensive play) ⚾️

This kid just loves baseball and helps make it fun for everyone! He’s a big goofball (that’s obvious) but he does a good job of honing that in and bearing down when the situation calls for it. Easton is an absolute pleasure to coach and has been an excellent teammate this season, and we are tremendously proud to speak on his growth that he’s shown! 📈

It’s tournament weekend, and a storm is coming (literally and figuratively)⛈️😤

GRIT Baseball travels to Lexington, SC to battle the weather and two formidable opponents in the 13u Super Regional Warmup Weekend presented by Perfect Game!

So grab your umbrellas, your loudest cheering voice, and let’s get after it on this stormy Saturday!

First pitch is around 3 o’clock at Oak Grove Sports Complex in Lexington, SC. Be there or be square ▪️

Week 7 of our GRIT Baseball Player Spotlight Series 🚨

#7 Jackson Kelley aka Jack aka Dr. Drip 💧

Another one of GRIT Baseball's catchers, this kid isn't just a gunner behind the plate, he's another one that will ball out wherever you put him! Whether that be the outfield, infield, or behind the dish, Jack is gonna go hard and he's gonna excel wherever that may be. Additionally, this kid has an INCREDIBLE baseball IQ, which is somewhat tough to coach so we're grateful that he came to our squad with this built in! 🧠

In his latest season, Jackson contributed to GRIT Baseball's success in several categories including OPS (.949), walks [11 (second on the team!)], fielding percentage (.913, not bad for a tough job behind the plate!), and surprisingly enough, stolen base percentage with 100%!! 😱

Jackson is a very SOLID baseball player! He does the things you ask of him and he'll also do the things that sometimes aren't hammered on in practice. Mound visits when he feels a pitcher needs a break, the intangibles, etc., this kid has them. And that makes him easier to coach when his baseball IQ makes him stand out! 💪

Week 6 of our GRIT Baseball Player Spotlight Series 🚨

#4 Carson Fox aka Cars💥

Man this kid is a JOY to have around! We wished he lived closer so he could practice with us every time but we know he’s steady putting work in with some coaches in his area in the upstate! Carson and his parents travel hours every tournament weekend to play with us and we love having them every time!!

In his latest season, Carson was a top performer with GRIT Baseball in hitting in several categories including OPS (1.110), OBP (.500), doubles, runs scored, and RBIs! Not only can he mash, but he’s an absolute BRICK WALL 🧱 behind the plate!!

This kid is always a positive force in the dugout, encouraging his teammates and helping our other catchers to improve and work on their craft. He’s as reliable as they come behind the dish but even more than that, he’s a true utility player ANYWHERE in the field!

GRIT Baseball finishes runner up in the 13U Lowcountry Big South Battle of the Belts presented by Perfect Game.

While it wasn’t exactly the result we were hoping for, we are extremely proud of our boys and the way they competed over the weekend. We definitely have some work to do as the season progresses but starting here is a good place to be!

This is just the beginning, it’s a process. Trust the process, and 💍🏆

Week 5 of our GRIT Baseball Player Spotlight Series 🚨

#33 Brody Horne aka Bro 💥

Another kid who can play multiple positions, but this kid has EARNED a starting spot at third base! Brody has been with us for four seasons now, came in as a second baseman, and we just KNEW he would shine at third, and he absolutely has! But this kid is also a DAWG in center field, whether he likes it or not 😂

In his latest season, Brody was a lightning rod ⚡️ at the top of the lineup for GRIT Baseball! He excelled with his bat in several categories including OPS (1.237‼️), AVG (.481), doubles, and led the team in stolen bases with 20! 😱

This kid is a BEAST in the batters box, on the field, on the mound, and he is an absolute MONGOOSE on the basepaths! Leading the team in stolen bases and just won the race for fastest kid in GRIT Baseball last night! This kid is a pleasure to coach and a great teammate. Not to mention, one of the toughest young men on the diamond every time he plays 😤

Week 4 of our GRIT Baseball Player Spotlight Series 🚨

#00 Liam Albee aka (he needs a cool nickname)

GRIT Baseball’s shortstop has made some incredible strides over these past two seasons! Liam takes accountability and holds himself to a high standard which keeps him driven while he works to be the shortstop that he and we all know he can be! 😤

In his latest season, Liam battled some injury woes but still was able to do PLENTY to help his team along the way. Including striking out 11 batters over 12 innings and touting an opponent batting average of only .100 😱 NOT TO MENTION, if you peep the video, he hit (by far) the LONGEST home run of the season, an absolute NO DOUBTER 💣

Liam not only plays the game the right way, but he practices that way too. This kid doesn’t make excuses, he just makes it happen! Always holding himself accountable and striving to improve every chance he gets. An absolute pleasure to coach!
