The last two years have had lots of fun times and lots of challenges that have brought forth growth. I have enjoyed my time with CTS and am extremely grateful for those who've trusted me with their training. 2025 was a phenomenal year with many full classes and lots of great memories. It's one of the best rewards to see improvements in shooters. Especially when they didn't know they could do the things they accomplish on the range. Due to a new job, and some other things soon to hopefully take off, I am shutting down CTS. September 5th will be the last class we do. It's a Jasper Pistol Foundations class so if you wanted to take that but have been putting it off, now is your only chance. It'll be a full class and there's only a couple of slots still available so don't wait too long!

Y'all stay safe and continue to take your training serious!

God bless 🙌🏽

Tic marks are often used on mounting screws and sighting dials in order to see that they're not backing out or altering point of aim / point of impact. Battery trays are often not thought of but should be marked as well. By far, the #1 thing I see go wrong in classes with people running optics is mounting screws backing out, but this style of battery tray flying out is a close second it seems. A simple mark is the best way tell you're good to go. I installed this optic for a friend and zeroed it today and though I'm not huge on Holosun, I must admit the dot was pretty clean. Especially considering the price.

Here is a side-by-side comparison of the Holosun 507Comp and the 507 Pro-Max that someone in a class I was taking had. She's a bigg'n for sure. This would not be recommended for duty as glass this size tends to break a bit easier. Improper benefit of bigger glass is depending on it to help find the dot in normal presentation. That's a bandaid. More proper benefit would be tracking the dot and recognizing return easier for faster reactive shooting. Although it would certainly be nice when presenting in unconventional ways as well.

Another optic off for a shooter in a class. Proper install is crucial. Proper maintenance and inspections are as well. Things can go wrong but rarely if everything is in check with how you keep your gear. And if your local shop does an install make sure you monitor it and don't blindly trust it. We always recommend tic marks on the screws!

Having a fi***rm is not enough! Shooting it once or twice is not enough! There's bad guys out there (like this creep) and you need to be able to use your fi***rm with enough competence to get the job done during an emergency. Our next class, the Jasper Pistol Foundations, will lay a great foundation for this. September 5th just 30 minutes from Summerville SC. Take advantage of our 4 for the price of 3 deal. DM me for me info! Shout out to Moonlight Industries for Jeffrey

May this celebration of our independence from tyranny bring us all to search understanding on why our founding fathers took this great step. And make sure to pray we return to the foundation of what was intended by them. It seems we've mostly forgotten. Enjoy your freedoms to the fullest. Be safe and have fun.

250 years ago today, almost to this hour (9am), on Sullivan's Island just outside of Charleston, an invasion of a fleet from the mighty British Navy was held off by a group of men fighting from a fort made from palmetto trees. These men were out sourced and had to take precise shots only due to limited gun powder. They were motivated and willing to fight against a giant in the name of freedom. During this battle, The Moultrie Flag, the battle flag over the fort these men were fighting from, was shot down. Sgt. Jasper exposed himself to get the flag back up in order to make the claim that they were still in this fight. This rallied the troops and motivated them to continue, leading to a victory over the impossible. Colonel Moultrie, who was commander during this battle, created this flag and found victory with it in the air. Both Colonel Moultrie and Sgt. Jasper have a class on the CTS schedule named after them. The gorget on the flag with the word LIBERTY written in it, is in the CTS circular logo. I am grateful for them and this is one of my favorite flags.

This week I taught the 2-Day Red Dots for Pistols class for Warrior Poet Society® and it was a great time. This class goes from educational learning all the way to dynamic application. Participants get to better understand how to take advantage of pistol mounted optics and are pushed to enhance performance by consistency in having the dot in presentation as well as during recoil. Other topics covered include back-up systems, parallax free break downs, driving target focus, throttle control, and more. The class starts with a presentation that explains the advantages of optics, pros and cons of different types of optics and their features, installation and maintenence, as well as lighting conditions. It's hard to understand all the advantages of optics unless going through proper training. Next class is in September. Come train!

Side note: it was great to get some time with Paul Perkerson Sam Houston Pat Krentz and Mikie Webb . I could hang with these guys in the middle of a catastrophe and it would still be fun.
