The **open-water crappie bite has been GOOD to us**, and today was no different. We went back after them and **SMOKED THEIR TAILS AGAIN!** 😂🎣

Another **YAY DAY** for Gators Outdoor Adventures!

Some days the fish cooperate and some days they'll make you question everything you thought you knew. 😂 That's fishing. But when it all comes together, you enjoy every minute of it.

At the end of the day, catching fish is great — but **making memories on the water is what it's really about.** These are the days you don't get back, and that's why we're going to keep fishing until we run out of daylight!

🔥 SHALLOW-WATER SWAMP BEATDOWN! 6 CUPS OF WORMS + 400 CRICKETS GONE! 🎣🐊

What a DAY in the swamp! We put the Warrior Boats and ACC Crappie Stix to WORK in some skinny water, and I promise you they got tested today! 💪🎣

We went through 6 cups of worms and 400 crickets! 😂 That right there ought to tell you how the bite was.

And we weren’t just keeping everything that pulled the cork under either. We culled fish all day looking for QUALITY, and still managed to come out with the quantity too. That's a heck of a bonus during these hot dog days of summer! 🔥☀️

Those little Warrior Boats are right at home back in this shallow swamp water—getting us into places where the fish are that bigger boats simply aren't going. The ACC Crappie Stix panfish rods got bent ALL DAY LONG, and the Legacy 1000 reels definitely earned their keep!

Now I reckon we're headed back to the open water to play around a little… then probably right back to the swamp. 😂

We’re doing some bouncing around right now—you can't pattern us if WE DON'T HAVE A PATTERN! 🤣🤣

One thing stays the same though: we're catching fish and making memories! That's what it's all about. 🎣❤️

DAY 2 — NO PLAYING AROUND! 🎣💨

Day 2 had to be QUICK, FAST & IN A HURRY! 😂🎣

This wasn’t an all-day fishing trip. The mission was simple — get on the water, find the crappie, catch us a mess, and GET ON THE ROAD! And that’s exactly what we did. 💪

The dog days of summer didn’t stop these fish from chewing. We got what we came for, made a few more memories, and headed north because WORK IS CALLING!

And by work, I mean that pretty swamp back home. 🌳🐊🎣

It’s time to get those Warrior Boats back in the swamp and put them to WORK! Y’all know that's where the real adventure starts. Florida was good to us, but there’s no place like home!

The ACC Crappie Stix panfish rods and Legacy 1000 reels got another workout before we hit the highway. Big thanks to all the companies that continue supporting what we do!

THIS IS WHAT A DAY OF FISHING IN THAT HOT SUN WILL DO TO YOU! 😂🎣☀️

That ain’t a nap right there… that’s some GOOD sleep! 😂

After getting up early, hitting the water, fighting that Florida heat and putting a mess of crappie in the boat, the man was DONE. Sitting across from him laughing and taking this picture—but truth be told, I was drifting off myself! 🤣

You can’t buy days like these. Catching fish is great, but the older I get, the more I realize the memories and the people you make them with are what you remember the most.

And I guarantee you one thing—we made some memories on this trip! ❤️🎣

Fish caught. Bellies full. Air conditioning blowing. LIGHTS OUT! 😂

DOG DAYS OF SUMMER… AND THE CRAPPIE WERE CHEWING! 🎣🔥

Day 1 of our trip and we absolutely got after them! It’s hard to believe this far south, in this kind of summer heat, these crappie are still willing to CHEW like this! ☀️🎣

That’s what I love about fishing—you never know what you’re going to find until you put the boat in the water and go looking. We found them, stayed on them, and put together one heck of a mess of fish!

But the best part wasn’t the numbers. It was another trip making memories—and we definitely made some on this one. 🙌

The ACC Crappie Stix panfish rods got a workout, and those Legacy 1000 reels were earning their keep! When the bite gets hot, you better have equipment you can depend on because there ain’t much time for playing around. 😂

🚨 WE CAUGHT THE 2026 GREAT LOOP CHALLENGE ON THE ST. JOHNS RIVER! 👀🇺🇸

We made a quick run down to Astor, Florida to see Red and the 2026 Great Loop Challenge come back to town! 🇺🇸🚤

And come on now… y'all know we CAN'T come to Florida without going fishing! 😂🎣 So naturally we had to hit the St. Johns River and wet a line while we were here.

But here's where this trip got GOOD… 👀

We met up with Red and the Great Loop crew RIGHT THERE ON THE ST. JOHNS RIVER, and something happened while we were all sitting there on the water that I'm not going to give away yet.

WE CAUGHT THE WHOLE THING ON CAMERA! 🎥🔥

I'll just tell y'all this much — it's a GREAT thing, for a GREAT cause, and I'm damn glad we were there to witness it firsthand. 🙏🇺🇸

We've got pictures, we've got video, and we've got the whole story coming!

Now it's about time to point this truck back toward South Carolina tomorrow night. 😂 The bite has been pretty dang good on our hometown waters, and we've got some fish waiting on us!

🎣 **THE CRAPPIE NEVER LEFT THE SHALLOWS… YOU JUST GOTTA FIND 'EM! 🐊🎣**

From open water right back into the shallow swamp where the **cottonmouths and gators are watching your every move**. 😂🐊🐍

Folks will tell you crappie leave the shallow water when summer gets here.

I don't buy it.

These crappie aren't packing their bags and leaving the swamp for the main lake just because the water is shallow. **The fish adjust to the conditions — and sometimes WE have to adjust with them.**

Some days you find them. Some days you don't.

We ALL have those **YAY days and NAH days.** That's fishing. 😂

Suck it up. Move on. Work harder. **Fish longer.**

Some folks are worried about their batteries dying before the day's over.

⚡ **We're just worried about running out of DAYLIGHT!**

And this time — **WE WON.**

Great day catching crappie in the swamp and another one of those trips you just can't put a price on.

And I'm going to tell you something else…

You can cast for them. You can troll for them. You can use minnows. You can catch crappie a hundred different ways.

But when you're holding that jig pole and a crappie absolutely **THUMPS that jig**…

🎣 **SUMMER CRAPPIE ARE BITING! 10–15 FOW & LIGHT LINE WAS THE KEY 🔥**

The open-water crappie bite wasn't bad at all! I'm not going to lie — the dog days of summer aren't my favorite time to chase crappie 😂 — but summertime can still produce some VERY nice fish if you're willing to go find them and adjust to what they want.

For us, the better fish seemed to be hanging around **10–15 feet of water**, and one thing became pretty obvious:

👉 **GO SMALL OR GO HOME EMPTY-HANDED!**

**1/16 oz was the key.** We experimented with **4 lb, 6 lb and 10 lb ACC Crappie Stix Copolymer line**, and you'll see the difference for yourself in the upcoming video. That lighter setup made a difference.

🎨 **COLORS:** Keep it simple!
Natural, solid colors produced for us. We tried some of the brighter stuff, but the fish just weren't having it.

We caught fish both **jigging and casting**, and I honestly can't tell you that one was clearly better than the other. Both methods put crappie in the boat.

We also brought minnows because we figured they'd be hard to beat. WRONG! 😂 The crappie didn't hit the minnows nearly as well as we expected.

We compared them against **Pops Crappie Jigs** and **Catch More Crappie plastics**, and the artificial baits flat-out produced.
