🥎 What Coaches Notice at the First Practice

Think coaches are only watching who throws the hardest or hits the ball the farthest?

Think again.

The first practice tells us so much more than who has the strongest arm.

Here’s what we’re actually noticing:

👋 Your attitude.
Do you show up excited to be there, or are you already making excuses?

👂 How you respond to coaching.
Do you listen? Make adjustments? Ask questions? Or do you shut down after one correction?

🗣️ Your communication.
Are you talking to your teammates?
Calling the ball?
Encouraging others?
Great teams communicate.

🏃 Your hustle.
Do you jog to get your glove?
Or do you sprint to every drill?
Effort doesn’t require talent.

🤝 How you treat others.
Are you supportive?
Do you pick teammates up after mistakes?
Character is noticed long before statistics.

⚾ Your body language.
One error doesn’t define you…
But your reaction to it tells us a lot.

The truth is…

Most players have similar talent.

What separates them is often their effort, attitude, coachability, and consistency.

Those are the things that earn trust.

And trust often earns opportunity.

WV CHAOS 12U won big over Wv Freedom 12U 9-2 on Saturday.

WV CHAOS 12U jumped out to the lead in the bottom of the first inning after Emmy H doubled, scoring two runs, and Avery S laid down a sacrifice bunt, scoring one run.

WV CHAOS 12U added one run in the second after Avery M doubled down the left field line on an 0-2 count.

A triple by Kendall R, and an error helped WV CHAOS 12U extend their early lead in the third.

Riley R led things off in the circle for WV CHAOS 12U. The starter gave up one hit and one run over four innings, striking out nine and walking six. Arri H started in the circle for Wv Freedom 12U. The right-handed pitcher allowed 11 hits and nine runs (seven earned) over four innings, striking out one and walking none. Avery K appeared in relief for WV CHAOS 12U.

WV CHAOS 12U piled up 11 hits in the game. Avery, Kendall, and Riley each collected two hits for WV CHAOS 12U. Braxtyn L, Kendall, and Emmy each drove in two runs for WV CHAOS 12U.

Audree B, Noella O, and Arri each collected one hit for Wv Freedom 12U. Audree and Arri each drove in one run for Wv Freedom 12U. Aubrey L led Wv Freedom 12U with two walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, amassing six walks for the game. Wv Freedom 12U turned one double play in the game.

WV CHAOS 12U Beat Diamond Dawgs 2026 12U

WV CHAOS 12U were triumphant over Diamond Dawgs 2026 12U 8-4 on Saturday at Meadows Sports Complex.

WV CHAOS 12U got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Emmy H singled to center field, Avery S grounded out, and Hadley K singled, each scoring one run.

A ground out by Riley R, a single by Trinity S, and an error helped WV CHAOS 12U extend their early lead in the second.

A single by Braxtyn L extended the WV CHAOS 12U lead to 8-2 in the bottom of the third inning.

Charleigh O earned the win for WV CHAOS 12U. The hurler surrendered two hits and four runs (three earned) over four innings, striking out four and walking seven. Taelyn began the game for Diamond Dawgs 2026 12U. The starting pitcher gave up seven hits and eight runs (three earned) over three innings, striking out five and walking three.

Trinity drove the middle of the lineup, leading WV CHAOS 12U with two runs batted in. The third baseman went 1-for-2 on the day. Braxtyn, Kendall R, Trinity, Emmy, Hadley, Avery M, and Charleigh each collected one hit for WV CHAOS 12U. Kendall stole two bases.

Jayden G led Diamond Dawgs 2026 12U with two runs batted in from the number eight spot in the lineup. Jayden went 1-for-2 on the day. Paislee C and Jayden each collected one hit for Diamond Dawgs 2026 12U. Genesis K led Diamond Dawgs 2026 12U with two walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, accumulating seven walks for the game.

TN Stars Fastpitch Dillow 12U got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Harper was struck by a pitch, and TN Stars Fastpitch Dillow 12U scored on a wild pitch, each scoring one run.

WV CHAOS 12U took the lead in the top of the second inning after Hadley K doubled down the left field line, Charleigh O doubled to center field, Avery M singled down the left field line, and TN Stars Fastpitch Dillow 12U committed an error, each scoring one run.

Avery S earned the win for WV CHAOS 12U. The starter gave up one hit and two runs over five innings, striking out two and walking one. Harper stepped in the circle first for TN Stars Fastpitch Dillow 12U. The hurler allowed five hits and four runs (three earned) over one and two-thirds innings, striking out one and walking none.

Avery and Charleigh were tough to handle back-to-back in the lineup, as each drove in two runs for WV CHAOS 12U. Hadley went 2-for-2 at the plate to lead WV CHAOS 12U in hits.

Ava led TN Stars Fastpitch Dillow 12U with one hit in two at bats.

WV CHAOS 12U will travel to Diamond Dawgs 2026 12U for their next game on Saturday.
