Transitioning from the bike touring lifestyle was not easy for me. Back home, after the warm welcomes and the short excited story sharing, I was left with a strong feeling of ennui. On the road, every...

During the past 2 and a half months, I have pedaled about 3200 miles, taken lots of non biking days, crossed quite a few mountains, met a countless number of incredible people, and soaked in much of this beautiful country. Today I have finally arrived in Seattle. I am so so so thankful for each of you who have supported me with encouraging words, good vibes on steep passes, listening to my exciting stories and lending an ear when the going was tough. It has been quite the adventure.

I crossed over the Continental Divide yesterday and it was overhwhelmingly mellow. Today I'm headed into the cycling mecca, Missoula! Some fellow cyclists at the campsite gave me advice for actual routes to Seattle. It's becoming a reality. I'm almost there.

After about 12 hours in Sturgis, I had a job, a campsite, a guest house, and a place to crash at a fellow employee’s house. I was also employed by Easyriders Saloon at the Hospitality tent. There I...

I climbed my first pass over the Bighorns and made friends along the way! The downhill was absolutely incredible, 30 miles, 6% grade through a canyon. The most exhilarating time I've had in awhile :)

Yesterday, ready to get back on the road, I had a bittersweet departure from Sturgis, SD. Working the rally was a great experience, but pulling 16 hour days did get a bit exhausting. I met so many great people, many of them are sure to be lifelong connections. The hospitality gals killed it. I survived the rowdiest of all campgrounds, Glencoe and rode on the backs of quite a few motorcycles. After our duties at Easyriders were over, I went on an epic crossroads esque road trip with two wonderful ladies from work. We ate buffalo brats in Hill City, drove on needles highway in the Black Hills, did a quick drive by of Mount Rushmore, acted like tourists at Wall Drug, and soaked in the Badlands all in one day! Thank you to everyone that played a part in this great experience it wouldn't have been the same without all of you :)

On the last day of the Sturgis rally I finally indulged in an Indian Taco and latte at a plumbing store turned food stand during the rally.
