Attention Woodland Parents/Guardians: Now that we have a few weeks of school (mostly) under our belts, its time to announce the first meeting of the Drama Dept! This year we would love to expand our horizons and have, not just a 'department', but a club! A place where kids--whether they are on our stage or not--can come and learn about/enjoy all of the elements of the theater world! We are still working out all of the details but are very excited for this next chapter.

With that being said, our FIRST meeting is Thursday, September 10th from 3-4pm in Mrs. Jackson's room ( #130). This meeting is for all the students who are interested in the Spring show or who just want to hang out with a group of people who love theater and music just as much as them.

Lots of important announcements will be made--please put this one on your calendar!

The Woodland Drama Department is very excited to present: Annie Jr!

It’ll be a hard-knock life for us (and the kids) as we get ready but know they will blow you away come March!

PHENOMENAL local theater watching opportunities coming this week!
Engle Lane Theatre has Disney's Frozen Jr. in Streator and Vermillion Players has Disney's The Little Mermaid in Pontiac.
Both casts have been working extremely hard over the past few months and would love to show you the immense amount of talent in the area.

That’s a wrap! First year of directing done! What a honor and pleasure it’s been. Cortney and I are very excited about what the future will hold for the department—we have SO much talent that will continue to blossom for years to come. Parents, thank you for trusting me to work with your kids. It’s truly been one of my greatest joys—to push them to greatness, see their confidence bloom, and give them a place to shine. My heart is very full. Thank you ♥️

Hello parents, here is the plan for tonight: We will finish up our dress rehearsal before the end of the regularly scheduled school day. Your child can then go home however they usually do (unless you prefer them to stay in Boys and Girls Club). Dinner (which we as the directors are providing) will be served at 5pm. Please have them to school at/by 5pm tonight so we can all enjoy each other's company before our first public performance at 7pm. Thank you all!

Y’all! Guess what?! Thanks to Woodland CUSD #5 Athletics and Activities and Flowers Plus Streator, we will have concessions AND FLOWERS available to purchase at ALL of the shows this weekend! Bring your support, bring your cash, and be ready to be BLOWN AWAY by these dedicated kids!
