2025 Golf Banquet at Big Shots!

It may have been a cold night, but that didn’t stop us from having an amazing time celebrating the success of these talented young ladies!

The JV team finished 1st in Conference, while Varsity earned 1st in Districts and 3rd at State. Add in all the plaques and trophies they collected throughout the year, and it’s clear just how special this group truly is!

To our seniors, Delainie and McKenna:
We are so proud of you and wish you nothing but the best in your future adventures. You’ve left us with wonderful memories and have secured a special place in the history of Strafford Girls Golf.

A huge thank you to Coach Peterson for all the time, effort, and dedication you put into our program! You always go the extra mile—whether it’s spending a full day at a varsity tournament and then returning to coach our younger players, your commitment never goes unnoticed. We appreciate you more than words can say!

Girls Golf finish 3rd in State this week!⛳️

This is the first time Strafford has placed, as a team, at state!

McKenna Peterson received All-State by placing 8th over all. She shot a 93 the first day and 88 on the 2nd!

Meadow Lakes course in New Bloomfield was tough! Fast 3 tier greens, narrow fairways and thick rough! The cold mornings and windy afternoons were another challenge in itself. Winds gusted so high, it made the balls move on the green after they had stopped rolling.

Girls played 36 holes in 2 days! The first day 10 strokes divided 5 teams for first place! The second day we closed the gap but it wasn’t enough to take first. Eldon and John Burroughs took first and second but we went from 5th to 3rd on the second day! We tied with California for 3rd but the tie-breaker went to our 5th girl, Camryn ZaBaran, and she beat the California girl by 1 stroke!!! This just shows how important everyone is to a team!!

These girls have battled all year for their team and school! Starting back in July with Opperation 36 and going through our season. Coach Peterson and I are extremely proud of our girls! Being great at golf just scratches the surface of how great these young women are! We’ve shared tears and hard times but made some great memories this year! We will miss our seniors next year but I know they will continue to be successful in whatever path they choose!

First Day of State is in the books! The girls did what they needed to do today! Staying within 10 strokes of first place is a great place to be!
These girls have worked through so many ups and downs this year and now it’s down to 1 round of golf! Coach P and I are very happy with where they put themselves.

These girls stick together as 1!

Girls had their practice round for state today. We had a good round and are excited to see how they play tomorrow!
Meadow Lakes is a beautiful course with some fall like temps! We started today in the 40s and highs in the mid 70s with 15-18 mph winds! Looks like Mondays forecast is a carbon copy! Great day for golf!!

Golf girls got treated like queens today by the Ward family! Brett, Summer, Hutchen and Haxton all joined in our golf practice tonight at Hiland Springs! What a beautiful place to play! We are so blessed to have such giving people at Strafford!!

The girls had a great time playing a scramble match with the boys!

Strafford wins the 4 County Challenge today!
We have gained some good friends and golfing buddy’s by playing against Reeds Springs, Hollister and Clever girls the last couple years. We all cheer for each other at tournaments we play in.

Next up, State! Good luck girls!

4 Strafford girls get All Conference today.
Finished the conference in 2nd behind Catholic but had a really good day!
The girls shot a 348 at Payne Stewart on a district size course!

1st Team All Mid-Lakes Conference:
McKenna 5th (83)
Harper 6th (Her PR with a 86)!
Delainie 7th (87)
Chesney 9th (92)
