The Desoto Parish School Board has voted to move forward with the new North Desoto Wrestling Facility.
This is a huge moment for North Desoto Wrestling and for everyone who has helped build this program into what it is today.
Wrestling at North Desoto has become so much more than a sport. It is a culture built on hard work, discipline, toughness, accountability, family, and the expectation that our student-athletes will become better people because they were part of this program. For years, our wrestlers, coaches, parents, alumni, administrators, and community have continued to invest in that culture, and now our program is being given something incredibly special, a home of its own.
We are extremely grateful to the Desoto Parish School Board, district leadership, school administration, and everyone who has supported North Desoto Wrestling and believed in what this program can continue to become.
When completed, we truly believe this will be one of the nicest high school wrestling facilities in the country. More importantly, it will be a place our wrestlers can call home, a place where future generations of Griffins will train, compete, grow, build relationships, chase championships, and learn lessons that will stay with them long after their wrestling careers are over.
Championships and trophies are special, but the greatest accomplishment of this program will always be the opportunities it creates for young people. North Desoto Wrestling has provided an avenue for student-athletes to continue their education, compete at the next level, and put themselves in position to build successful futures.
To every coach, wrestler, parent, alumni member, administrator, supporter, and community member who has played a part in this journey, thank you.
We are incredibly grateful for where we have been, excited about where we are going, and humbled by the opportunity ahead.
The future of North Desoto Wrestling is bright.
GET TOUGH.
