2025 Stilwell Cross Country awards:
ππ½ Male Runner of the Year: Senior David Rodriguez has been a dedicated member of the Stilwell XC team for four years and qualified for the state competition twice (2024 & 2025). He earned medals at various cross country events and is known for his rigorous training and high mileage.
ππ½ββοΈ Female Runner of the Year: Sophomore Jacey McGee is in her first year with the Stilwell High School cross country team and has successfully finished in the top 5 and some 1st place at the competitions we attended. Her determination is remarkable, as she always goes above and beyond.
π Most Improved: Junior, Milo Turman. The transformation from the 2024 XC season is remarkable. He has made significant progress in his running, particularly in hill workouts and speed training. This improvement is evident in his race performances and at various meets.
π Most Improved: Junior, Israel 'Issie' Samargis. He is dedicated to his training, no matter the challenges. With his athleticism, he is poised to excel in the 2025 season, aiming to be our team's second runner to finish.
π€π½ Coach's Award: Congratulations to sophomore Brock Cochran! Although he is new to Stilwell Cross Country, his dedication has earned him a spot on the Varsity team as our 7th runner. The Coach's Award recognizes athletes who demonstrate respect, diligence, and positive behavior both on and off the team.
π All State Award: Shoutout to sophomore Jacey McGee for earning her 2nd All-State award! In her freshman year, she competed at the 3A level and challenged herself at the 4A level, particularly against Lincoln Christian. She showcased her skills by finishing strong in 4th place at State, which also earned her All-Star recognition. Jacey has qualified for both the Oklahoma and Arkansas cross country meets.
ππ Crown of the Hills: Israel Samargis claims the title of King of the Hills, while Jacey McGee is named Queen of the Hills. This recognition is based on their performance during the Zion Hill workouts and other hill challenges. The first to reach the summit receives 10 points, with second place getting 9 points, and so forth.
Congratulations to all participants and teammates! It has been an outstanding 2025 season. Hereβs to an exciting 2026 ahead!
