Got roped into a 5k this morning. Elizabeth heard about a 5k and decided that it was what I needed to be doing at 0600 instead of resting. Needless to say I ended up running the 5k, it was ran at the EXACT same time as my PR 5k, down to the second so I cannot complain.

I wouldn’t trade her for the world, she knows just how to motivate me to do more.

Hey everyone! I know this is a long post but I wanted to full everyone in on some big things I want to do in the future! Please give it a read, it would mean a lot to me!

By now I would say that it is pretty safe to assume that you are all aware that I have multiple jobs. I am a Certified Personal Trainer as well as a Sergeant First Class in the United States Army. I have recently started to realize my real purpose in life while being away from home for so long. I have come to realize that I was put on this Earth to help as many people as I possibly can. My particular brand of helping does come in the shape of Health and Wellness. I have given out thousands of workouts in all the years that I have been helping people. I have had well over 500 clients throughout the Army and civilian sectors. To this day I still write around 5-10 programs per week, help many with nutrition, and go out of my way to go workout with people that need the motivation to get moving in a healthy manner. Most of these were free and on my own personal time. I have simply wanted to help as many people as I possibly can and I take the wins and the losses with the individual as if they truly were my wins and losses.

After many, many hours of soul searching, praying, and talking things over with Elizabeth I have come to the conclusion that I still do not feel like I give enough back to those around me. Call it a love language, call it a bleeding heart, call it being whatever you like but I feel like I could do more. After all this thinking I have come to the final thought that when I do eventually get home, I plan on starting a new chapter in my personal training journey. I plan on volunteering my time and effort to build a program to get personal training, health, and nutritional coaching into the hands of disabled veterans without them having to pay anything out of pocket. I am still working on the logistics of this but at the moment I plan on using a portion of the current dues I will get from clients and put it towards this program. I also plan on working to fund raise in ways to help bring this all together. I would love to see it eventually become a non-profit organization one day but one step at a time. The path forward is rocky at best. There is no set path and I am leaving a lot of faith in God that it will eventually lead to helping those around me. All I know is that I want to help and I refuse to stop until I help as many as I can. This is my purpose.

If it’s worth doing then it’s worth overdoing!

The food you put in your body is just as important as the workouts you are completing if not more important.

A Big Mac Meal with a medium Coke and medium fry is about 1100 calories. It would take about 3-4 consecutive AFTs of work to burn that many calories. I’m talking almost 8-10 miles of running. It’s just food for thought when choosing your food options!

If you ever need assistance with food swaps for less or more calories let me know! I have been on both ends of this spectrum.

As always, don’t let food control you but also be mindful!

Repetition rewires the brain. The consistent acts are the ones that stick. It doesn’t need to be new, flashy, or wild, just repeatable.

The longer I am alive the more I realize that working out is not all about strength, healthy is not just about muscles, and everything aches if I don’t stretch.

Time is yours and yours alone. The past is experience that you have gained. The future is your opportunity and it is up to you. What you do with your experience and your opportunity rests on your shoulders, do with it what you will.

Your body is built to move. It’s your job to discipline it and keep it under control. God has a purpose for you. Stay the course and He will show you the way.
