Little did I know Yoga would change my life!! Truth be told, I had been shy to practice Yoga since churches had spoken against it as if it weren’t “Christian”. I opened one of our first textbooks and learned we were free to worship any Supreme Being, or none. My heart skipped a beat in delight learning that I could worship and talk to God and Jesus as I practiced Yoga! As I progressed through the
teacher training program at UpDog Yoga in Rochester, MI (2023 RYT200 Graduate), I had to re-evaluate long held opinions and judgments as knowledge was imparted. Yoga is a gift that connected ALL the dots for me – mind, body, and now spirit. Having never been physically fit my entire life I now found myself willing to stick to a fitness program and EXCITED about it! Yoga has given me improved physical and mental health and is allowing me to spiritually blossom. I suffered with fibromyalgia and health issues for years, but Yoga has given me better health, energy, stamina, patience, peace and joy. My goal is to share Yoga and its many benefits with others so that their lives will also be positively impacted. “Yoga does not transform the way we see things, it transforms the person who sees.” B.K.S.
