DIVE TRIP THIS May!!
Sorry for the dive reset I just had to pull! OK, for real, we FINALLY got our first dive trip on the books! May 30th and 31st we will be drift diving and bridge diving West Palm Beach! So, that will be an hour of bridge diving the morning of the 30th at the world famous Blue Heron Bridge, TWO drops on the reef that afternoon, and two more reef drops the morning of the 31st on the reef. Total of 5 dives!
May 29th: Head on down and check into your room!
May 30th:*An hour of bridge diving in the morning, followed by 2 reef drops in the afternoon. This will be a pretty early morning dive, so there is a good chance of seeing some creatures that are crossing over from Night to Day shift!
May 31st: *TWO drops on the reef in the morning, and everyone can grab some lunch by the ocean and then start the journey home!
If you have never done this dive, you must give it a try!! The drift diving is simply magical, and the Blue Heron Bridge diving is rated "Top 10 Shore Dives in the world" by National Geographic, and "NUMBER ONE Night Shore Dive on the planet”! Not to mention, there are countless things to do and great places to eat in the surrounding area.
If you want to get a jump on your speciality certifications, we can work in an advanced certification for Boat, Drift, Nitrox, etc. to move you forward towards your Advanced Diver certification! I would just need to know well before hand so we can get you set up to complete the specialty certification while down there.
To reserve your spot, just go to our website and you can reserve your spot by purchasing the trip under the West Palm Beach Dive caption. If you have any questions beforehand, just shoot us a message!
Let’s get away for a few days and go dive!!
DETAILS:
Morning dive on the 30th:
*Meet at Phil Foster Park early, around 6:30am at the latest, and in the water by 8:15am. This can be as long or short a dive as you like, but we usually dive around a full hour, and still have plenty of air left over! For those who are bringing their family or friends on the trip, and they aren’t diving with us, there is a snorkel trail at this site where they can still see some awesome stuff in about 8 feet of water! They have fresh water (outdoor) showers there and restrooms (just keep in mind, they are BEACH bathrooms, so…)
**PS, if you don’t arrive early, you will NEVER find a spot, and will have to walk about 3 blocks will all your gear! So, I just grab my breakfast to go and head on to the bridge!
***The only additional price to dive this bridge part of the trip (assuming you own your own dive gear) will be for a single tank rental at Force-E. If you don’t own your own dive gear, you will need to do a rental package at Force-E. If you let me know what you are renting, if anything, I will call ahead and have it waiting on you so they don’t run out of equipment!
Time to go back to hotel, grab lunch, take a walk on an amazing beach!
Afternoon dive on the 30th:
Meet at dive boat, time and place TBD-Afternoon Drift Dives (two tank dive) Either wrecks or reef. Capt. Alex is the BEST and he will take us to the best spots for the day
Dinner: We always try to find a fun place to eat that will accommodate anyone that wants to come on, so feel free to help us make dinner a large group of salty divers! The more the merrier!
Morning dive on the 31st:
Meet at dive boat, time and place TBD-Morning Drift Dives (two tank dive) Either wrecks or reef.
Hotel Friday and Saturday night are reserved: We always stay at the Holiday Inn Express in Juno Beach. It is a great hotel in a great area! Every room has a balcony so that you can hang dry your gear in between dives if you like, and a very nice outside pool area to hang out in. It is about a 2-3 minute walk from your room to an absolutely stunning beach for a late afternoon or evening stroll! We got up early on our last trip to watch the sunrise Sunday morning of our trip, simply stunning. Free hot breakfast in the morning. Yes, it is bit more than your typical “dive” hotel”, but it is worth the extra, I assure you!
*for the Blue Heron Bridge dives, you will be responsible for your own tank rental (and any gear you need) at Force-E scuba, which is right next to the bridge.
**All Tanks are included on the boat drift dives, but if you need other dive gear, that rental will be extra. I am not charging extra for Nitrox, so just let me know if you want to dive Nitrox (must be Nitrox certified, which we can help you with) Just let me know what you need and I will make sure they have it ready for you to rent at the site! Or, you can rent gear from Force-E scuba before the trip and just keep it with you all weekend. Water can, sometimes, be “cool” at that time of year, so a light wetsuit is a good idea. I wear a 3 mil on those dives, and I hate to be cold, so that should usually be enough for most folks. We will watch weather close before we go.
For Drift Dives with Capt. Alex:
Full equipment, no wetsuit is $30
BCD Rental – $15
Regulator & Computer – $15
Mask, Fins & Booties – $15
Safety Sausage – $5
Wetsuit – $16
PS. you MUST have a Safety Sausage to drift dive! I strongly recommend just buying one, as it could be your best friend if you drift away a bit on ANY dive! :)
