On July 4th, 2020, I signed my lease and moved away from my parents to live on my own. It was a huge day for me, and I made that decision because I knew I needed an environment where I could fully focus on my dream of becoming a full-time powerlifting coach.
I made that choice during the height of the pandemic, right after losing my job as a personal trainer because in-person training had essentially stopped. I was on my own with barely enough income to pay rent or feed myself.
But I let that pressure push me! I did everything I needed to do to get my message out, build my coaching business, and attract the clients who were right for me. Posting on social media, posting my podcasts episodes, collabing with other coaches, refereeing at every meet I was available to be at, and learning as much as I could to be the best coach I can be for my athletes.
I’m so thankful I made that decision because now, in May 2026, not only do I genuinely love my clients and the business I’ve built, but I’m releasing my book, Why Women Should Powerlift, a book created to inspire more women to enter the sport of powerlifting and to teach them how to become the strongest version of themselves, both inside and outside the gym!
