One year older. And just in the past two weeks I celebrated 10 years married to my husband, welcomed our third baby into this world, and launched my husband’s first book.

Did anyone catch how many times I was feeding baby Miles?

After my first two C-Sections, I realized how crucial the nighttime is for recovery. And I was determined to make it just a little easier because sleep is few and far between but my incision could use a break.

I found this Grownsy bassinet on Amazon and my expectations were met and surpassed. A few things I feel are essential for bassinets and postpartum recovery:
- Wheel around a room
- Rocking feature
- Dropping side panel + a raised side bar for safety
- Change heights
- Extra storage

Oh the difference a week can make. 🤰👩🏼‍🍼
This is my third C-section and it feels like with each one the recovery gets a little easier each time.
I TRAINED for this.
I trained HARD for this.

Doing strength training, Pilates, and an occasional HIIT throughout pregnancy, it has made recovery faster. My goal was to keep as much muscle as possible while pregnant because so much of motherhood needs STRENGTH. And honestly I feel my mental strength grew as well.

Exercises I did with all 3 C-Sections in the hospital room (first 1-4days) to heal better. I know it seems scary but staying completely static is actually going to make your healing take longer. Instead perform these 3 to 4 exercises a few times a day to help stimulate blood flow and healing. Keep in mind, You should not be using your core for any of these, but working your extremities and expanding your lungs to actually prevent pneumonia and blood clots and also bring healing to your whole body.

360 breathing
Leg pumps
Ankle circles
Angel wings

C-Section updates. Five days after surgery. And I’m off on my first walk. Movement is healing. NOTHING crazy and I’ll certainly build myself up to faster and longer, but sticking to a snail’s pace and minimal distance for now to see how I feel.

But man, does getting sunlight, fresh air, and movement feel good for the soul.
