Most women over 40 have been praised for being flexible.

For changing the plan.
For absorbing the inconvenience.
For making it work.
For carrying what no one else noticed needed to be carried.

But adapting is not always the healthiest choice.

Flexibility isn’t people-pleasing.

It isn’t saying yes to everything or constantly rearranging yourself to keep everyone else comfortable.

Healthy flexibility means knowing what can bend—and what needs to stay anchored.

Sometimes you change the plan.

Sometimes you loosen your grip.

And sometimes the strongest, healthiest thing you can do is hold the boundary long before you snap.

💭 Where are you being asked to bend when what you really need is a boundary?

When most people hear the word flexibility, they think about touching their toes.

Lately, flexibility has meant something completely different to me.

It has meant changing plans, letting go of control, and staying open to experiences I never expected.

That little glass octopus I brought home from Seattle has become a reminder that flexibility isn’t just about the body.

It’s also about the mind.

It’s about problem-solving, adapting, and loosening our grip on the plan long enough to notice what else might be possible.

This week, I’m exploring flexibility—not just in how we move, but in how we live.

🐙 What does flexibility mean to you?

Power isn’t pushing harder every day.

Power is knowing when your body is ready to push.

Today I trained close to my max—not because I forced it, but because I could.

The difference?

I fueled my body.
I finally got a good night’s sleep.
And I’ve been working with my doctor to address my sleep, because despite having a solid bedtime routine, sometimes good habits alone aren’t enough.

We often celebrate the workout.

But the workout is only one piece of the equation.

The real power is in the recovery.
The sleep.
The nourishment.
The willingness to ask for help when something isn’t working.

Your strongest days aren’t built in the gym.

They’re built the night before.

💪 Listen to your body.
💤 Respect recovery.
✨ Then watch what you’re capable of.

Meet my superhero. 💛

She’s 78 years old.

Every week, she bikes to Pilates.

Every week, she shows up ready to challenge her balance, build her strength, and laugh through the hard work.

She reminds me that aging powerfully isn’t about luck—it’s about choosing to move, choosing to grow, and choosing yourself over and over again.

Honestly? She’s who I want to be when I grow up.

The joy she has doesn’t come from avoiding challenges.

It comes from embracing them.

Movement has given her strength, confidence, independence, and freedom.

So I’ll ask you the same question…

What’s stopping you?

The Power of Masks

Not all masks are made of paper.

Sometimes they’re professional photos.

Perfect makeup.

The smile that says, “I’ve got it all together.”

The polished version of ourselves that feels just a little safer to show the world.

Ironically…

The first mask is obvious.

The second one often isn’t.

The third photo?

That was taken during The Gathering.

A room full of women who, just hours earlier, had barely known one another.

By the end of the afternoon, people were laughing, making ridiculous faces, sharing stories, and simply being themselves.

That’s what happens when people begin to feel safe.

The masks start to come off.

The conversations become more honest.

The laughter becomes more genuine.

People stop performing…

and start connecting.

That can feel incredibly vulnerable—especially when you’re walking into a room full of strangers.

It’s one of the reasons retreats can feel intimidating.

We wear masks because they protect us.

But the retreats I create aren’t about asking you to become someone different.

They’re about creating a space where you feel safe enough to take the mask off.

Because when you show up exactly as you are—joyful, tired, courageous, imperfect, playful—you discover something powerful.

Real power isn’t pretending to have it all together.

Real power begins when the masks come off.

❤️ Live audaciously. Age powerfully.

Sometimes the hardest part isn’t introducing yourself.

It’s walking through the door.

One of my clients shared something with me after The Gathering that has stayed with me.

She told me she had been nervous about coming. She’s naturally shy, and she and her daughter had already decided ahead of time when they would quietly leave if it felt uncomfortable.

Instead…

They found themselves talking with people.

Making connections.

Feeling welcomed.

And they stayed until the very end.

That is exactly why I create these experiences.

Not because everyone walks in feeling confident.

But because everyone deserves a place where they can feel seen, welcomed, and leave with new connections.

Whether it’s a Gathering, a yoga class, or a retreat, magic often begins on the other side of one courageous decision.

✨ Sometimes all you have to do is walk through the door.

One of the biggest worries I hear is,

“I don’t know anyone.”

The women in this photo didn’t either.

They arrived at one of my retreats as strangers.

Today, they still get together, share meals, laugh, support one another, and continue the friendships they began that weekend.

That’s the kind of power you can’t schedule.

You can’t force it.

You simply create the space for it to happen.

That’s why I created Anchor & Shift.

Yes, you’ll move your body.

Yes, you’ll enjoy time in nature.

Yes, you’ll learn practical tools to help you feel stronger and more resilient.

But what surprises so many women is the community they find along the way.

If you’re wondering whether you’ll fit in, you’re not alone. Almost every woman asks me that before she signs up.

Then they arrive.

And they realize they were never the only one.
