Founded by Earl Mueller in 1958, Creve Coeur Post 397 is one of the original members of Missouri District 10. Creve Coeur Post 397, won Back-to-Back District 10 Championships in 2011 and 2012, as well as a 2nd place finish in the 2012 Missouri State Tournament. Post 397 draws from Parkway Central, Parkway North and Parkway West high schools in Chesterfield and Creve Coeur. Players CAN attend priva
te high schools and still play for Post 397, as long as their home address lies within the public schools listed above. Several professional athletes have played for Creve Coeur Post 397, including Max Scherzer, Dave Silvestri and Travis Mitchell. Hundreds more have gone on to play collegiate baseball, including many at the NCAA Division 1 level. District 10 games are regularly scouted by national collegiate and MLB scouts. Post 397 is not a traditional “traveling” team due to its District structure and the high level of competition within Legion, but we do attend showcase tournaments each year at the AAA level. The AA and A teams are entered in to 2-3 tournaments per year. Legion baseball remains the top level of amateur competition, despite the claims of independent organizations. 75% of all NCAA Division 1 players played Legion baseball, and 50% of all Major Leagues played. American Legion Baseball is the only amateur organization sponsored directly by MLB, and the National Baseball Hall of Fame includes Legion exhibits.
