Low back strains suck so much!!
Muscle strains and sprains are common in the lower back because it supports the weight of the upper body and is involved in moving, twisting and bending. Lumbar muscle strain is caused when muscle fibers are abnormally stretched or torn. (www.aans.org)
I've been dealing with one for the past couple of months and it makes my days very difficult. Some days it's hard to sit, and others hard to stand. Luckily I have found ways to heal my lower back strain and get back to feeling close to 90 percent. (let's face it, none of us ever truly feel 100 percent🤣)
Possible causes of low back strains:
🔴Heavy lifting
🔴Poor posture
🔴Sudden impact
🔴Repetitive motion
🔴Weak ab or back muscles
Ways to treat lower back strain:
🔵Ice your back to reduce pain and swelling
🔵Apply heat (After 3 days of icing first)
🔵Use a TENS Unit
🔵Use back support such as a belt or lumbar cushion
🔵Do light physical activity (strengthen abs and lower back)
🔵Get physical therapy
