⚾🌟 Co-Ed Youth Baseball Registration Now Open! Ages 3–13 🌟⚾

Get your kids ready for a fun and exciting baseball season! Our non-profit, non-competitive youth program is a great way for players to learn the game, build skills, and make new friends.

We will have in-person registrations at the Grant Beach Park concession stand during all remaining flag football and soccer games on May 29 & 30.

💲Early Bird Registration:
Only $10 through May 30!

Registrations received after May 30 will be $20.

📅 Final registration deadline: June 6

⚾ Final in-person late registration:
June 6 from 10 AM–2 PM at Hovey House. Coaches will receive rosters June 9 and first game is June 18. Games run for 6 weeks.

Yesterday we wrapped up our Spring Soccer, Flag Football, and Cheerleading seasons!

A huge THANK YOU to all of our coaches and volunteers for making this such a wonderful season. Your time, dedication, and commitment to our athletes are truly appreciated.

We also want to thank all of our parents for trusting us and allowing us the opportunity to teach, encourage, and support your children throughout the season. Watching them learn, grow, and have fun has been incredibly rewarding!

This was definitely one of the rainiest seasons we’ve had in recent memory, and we want to extend an extra thank you to all of our families, coaches, volunteers, and athletes for your patience, understanding, and flexibility with weather-related changes. We know schedule adjustments can be challenging, and we truly appreciate everyone’s positive attitude and willingness to adapt so the kids could continue to have a great season.

If you have team photos, action shots, or player photos from the season, please share them in the comments or send them to us via direct message. We’d love to create an end-of-season slideshow to celebrate all of the amazing memories made this spring!

Tonight’s 10-13 flag football game between the Chiefs and the Bears is rained out, and will be moved to tomorrow at 3 if we’re able to have games. If not, it will be moved Tuesday evening at 6 pm.

⚾️ Grant Beach Sports is looking for volunteer baseball coaches for the upcoming summer 2026 season! If you are interested in coaching or would like more information, please comment on this post or send us a direct message. All coaches are required to pass a background check through the Springfield Park Board. Coaching is a great way to support our youth, build community, and make a positive impact on our players both on and off the field. We appreciate all of our volunteers and look forward to another great season!

Grant Beach Sports Committee Meeting Reminder:

Our next Grant Beach Sports committee meeting will be held on June 1 at 5:30 PM at Hovey House. We will be preparing for the upcoming baseball season. Please note that beginning June 22, committee meetings will switch to the 4th Monday of each month. Same time and place. This change is being made to allow those who wish to attend Springfield City Council meetings on the first Monday the opportunity to do so. As always, all committee meetings are open to the public. We strongly encourage our coaches and parents to attend. Your input, ideas, and support are always needed and greatly appreciated as we continue working to improve our programs for the kids and community.

🚨 Some tough news regarding the 2026 outdoor pool season: We are unable to open Grant Beach and Westport Pools this summer due to structural damage.

🏗️ Grant Beach remains closed after the April 2025 storm lifted off the roof of the pool house. Construction begins this Tuesday on roof replacement and interior water damage, and continues for 90 days. The Park Board is committed to repairing Grant Beach for reopening in 2027.

💧 Westport was recently discovered to have a massive leak due to separation of a 50-year-old drainpipe from the pool shell. The leak lost 1,170 gallons of water an hour, which is about 1/3 the total volume of the pool in a day. This is complicated repair, and could not be completed in time for pool season. And we're not sure what additional damage may be found beneath the pool. A comprehensive outdoor pool assessment, currently underway for all locations, should tell us more.

✅ The good news:
• We've added open days at Fassnight, Meador and Silver Springs outdoor pools.
• We've extended daily discount Splash & Sizzle pricing ($1 admission or free with a canned food donations for Ozarks Food Harvest) now offered 5-6:30 p.m. 🥫
• Outdoor pool admission rates at the indoor pools at Chesterfield and Doling Family Centers, Monday–Thursday from 4–8 p.m., starting June 1.
• Outdoor pool season runs June 1–Aug. 16.

Here’s the updated flag football and cheer schedule as well as the end of season picnic schedule. Click on the photo for full view. The 10-13 flag football games were pushed back to account for the rain out last night. A new date was added for the final game, so please check the schedule. End of season picnic and medals will be immediately following your last game. We ask that you please bring donations for the picnic if you are able. Football/cheer Ages 5-6 chips, Ages 7-9 hotdogs, Ages 10-13 hotdog buns. Soccer ages 3-4 cookies, 5-7 hotdog buns, 8-9 hotdogs, 10-13 hotdog buns. You may give your donations to concessions during any remaining game.

Here is the updated soccer schedule with makeup games Saturday afternoon. These are in addition to the morning games. We pushed some games back 30 minutes so the teams playing back to back get a break.
