MVDA Instructor Spotlight 💗🌟💗

We are so happy to welcome Miss Nicolay back with us at MVDA this season! 💕

Nicolay Dorsett is a dancer with Dayton Contemporary Dance Company. She has performed on big stages like The Joyce Theater in New York City and at the American Dance Festival. Nicolay loves sharing her passion for dance with young movers through teaching, choreography, and Pilates. She creates new dances, including her recent work Journey of the Six, and teaches in DCDC’s Summer Intensive.

Originally from Florida, Nicolay graduated from the University of South Florida with degrees in Health Sciences and Modern Dance. She’s excited to keep growing as an artist and inspiring the next generation of dancers! 💗

MVDA Instructor Spotlight! 💗🌟💗
We’re so happy to have Mr. Donovan back with us for another great season at MVDA! Here is his impressive bio…

Donovan McFadden is a Black dance artist, performer, choreographer, and educator from Germantown, Maryland. He received his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance from Alabama State University and is currently entering his third season as a company member with Dayton Contemporary Dance Company. Donovan is also entering his second season with Miami Valley Dance Academy, where he shares his passion for dance while helping young dancers develop their technique, artistry, confidence, and love for movement.

Donovan began his performance career as a young dancer in high school, performing at prestigious venues including the Kennedy Center and Smithsonian Institution. Since joining DCDC, he has performed at The Joyce Theater in New York City. He has worked with choreographers including Ray Mercer, Rennie Harris, Debbie Blunden Diggs, Stafford C. Berry Jr., Amy Hall Garner, and Gary Jeter. His choreography has been presented at the Alabama Dance Festival and Red Rock Dance Festival. Outside of concert dance, Donovan has professional experience in musical theater, arts education, and interdisciplinary performance, including work with Alabama Shakespeare Festival and the World Games.
