Dear Riders and Families,
I hope this message finds you well. We are reaching out to share an important update regarding this year’s Southeast Youth Extravaganza & Open Barrel Race. After many conversations, careful review, and a great deal of consideration, we have made the difficult decision to move the event to a new location and date.
This decision was not made lightly. The Southeast Youth Extravaganza & Open Barrel Race has always been more than a show—it is a place where young riders grow, shine, and feel supported by a community that believes in them. Because their experience is at the heart of everything we do, we want to be transparent about the challenges that led to this change.
Over the past several months, the costs associated with our originally planned venue have increased far beyond what was projected. Arena rental, equipment, staffing, insurance, and essential services have all risen significantly. Keeping the event at the original location would have required us to cut back on key elements that directly impact the quality, safety, and opportunities our youth deserve. That is something we were not willing to compromise.
By moving the event, we can remain responsible stewards of our resources while preserving the supportive, memorable, and well‑organized experience that defines the Southeast Youth Extravaganza & Open Barrel Race. Our goal is—and has always been—to ensure that every young rider walks into the arena feeling proud, encouraged, and celebrated.
We understand that changes in location and date change can create challenges for families who plan ahead, and we are truly grateful for your patience and understanding. Our team is finalizing the new details now, and we will share the updated location, dates, and schedule as soon as everything is confirmed.
What has not changed—and will never change—is our commitment to the incredible youth who make this event so special. Their passion, dedication, and courage continue to inspire us, and we remain devoted to giving them an experience worthy of their hard work.
Thank you for your continued support of the Southeast Youth Extravaganza & Open Barrel Race and for standing with us as we navigate these rising costs. We look forward to gathering together soon and creating another unforgettable year for our riders.
With appreciation,
Crystal Hyman
