This past weekend, Neptune Custom Rods had the privilege of teaming up with Project Healing Waters for a hands-on fly rod building event with some incredible veterans.

Jeremiah Johnson, Ernie Davis, and Dannie Pipkin spent the weekend learning the craft from the ground up — wrapping guides, selecting components, and building custom fly rods with their own two hands. Watching them take pride in every step of the process was a reminder of why I do this work.

There's nothing like fishing with a rod you built yourself, and it was an honor to help these guys create something they'll carry with them on the water for years to come.

Thank you to Project Healing Waters for the opportunity, and to Jeremiah, Ernie, and Dannie for their hard work and dedication all weekend. Looking forward to the next one! 🎣🇺🇸

Just delivered a regal pair of Batson Enterprises SWS696 just in time for Tarpon season here in SW FL. With a full cork custom grip, American Tackle aluminum reel seat and FUJI/Anglers Resource K-series guides with a Jim Trelikes half dragon scale, with JTOB inlayed tie offs. NEXT LEVEL Rod Builders finish!!
