Final senior spotlight: Ellie Jo Grissom. Voted by her teammates as one of two captains, Ellie dominated during her time at VB. A two-year starter, she played both sides of the ball and rarely came out of the game. Ellie is an excellent leader and an absolute menace on the field. For her career she had 212 total offensive touches for 3,036 yards and 45 TDs (27 of those her senior year). Defensively, she had 131 flag-pulls, 6 sacks, 9 INTs, and 4 pick-6s. Honors include 2025 All-West Division, 2x All-Region, 2025 MaxPreps National Player of the Week, & 2026 Tennessean Top Players in the state selection. She capped off her senior season with her 2nd team MVP award and was also named Region 3A co-Most Valuable Player. We will miss Ellie and are so proud of all that she accomplished. We thank her for her dedication to the program and look forward to what her future holds.

Senior spotlight: Cara Mills. Everyone knows Cara, or #44. Strong, steady, and dominant. When the opposing team knows what’s coming, but still can’t stop it, that’s saying something. Voted by her teammates as one of two captains, Cara led by example for our team. She will do anything you ask of her. For her career, she finishes with 132 catches, 1,478 receiving yards, and 24 TDs. Cara was also 2025 All-West Division, 2 time All-Region, 2025-26 MaxPreps Top 100 players in the nation, and our team’s Offensive MVP two years straight. We are proud of Cara and will miss her very much! We know she is destined for big things!

Senior spotlight: Shaylynn Ross. She goes by many names: Shaylynn, Shay Shay, Shady, QB1. One thing is for sure, Shaylynn is one of the most loyal people you will meet. You want hype? She will bring that too. For her career, she passed for 3,641 yards & 56 TDs. Shaylynn also had 6 defensive INTs when she played defense. We will miss #33 couldn’t be more proud of her!

Senior spotlight: Emma Gammon. One of the most respectful young people you will ever meet. Hardworking and competitive, but also kind and giving. Emma played center for 2 years and we only had one fumbled snap during that time. This season she added 445 receiving yards, 2 TDs, and 9 conversions. Adding to her versatility, she had 3 interceptions for us while filling in on defense at the beginning of the season. We are proud and thankful for Emma and can’t wait to see what her future holds!

Senior Spotlight: Addacyn Emery. As a two-year player, # 7 is a dawg!!! After missing her junior year due to injury, Addacyn showed up and showed out for her team this season. While playing some on offense, Addacyn's impact was on the defensive side of the ball. For her senior season she recorded 46 flag-pulls, 12 pass break-ups, two touchdowns, and a team high 13 interceptions. Her play earned her All-Region 3A honors. We are extremely proud of Addacyn. Congratulations!

As we approach graduation, we wanted to shoutout our seniors one more time. First up, Maddy Brown. A two-year player for the Eaglettes, Maddy always has a smile on her face. Even though injuries have kept her sidelined, Maddy has never stopped supporting her teammates. We are thankful and proud of Maddy!

Congratulations to 5 of our Eaglettes that that earned All-Region 3A honors! Van Buren is represented well led by Region co-MVP Ellie Grissom! Players selected are: Ellie Grissom (Sr.), Addacyn Emery (Sr.), Cara Mills (Sr.), Addison Roberts (Jr.), & Newcomer/Freshman of the Year Abby Grissom (Fr.). Well-deserved honor for these young ladies!
