Career Planning students have been preparing for the ACT test, which is also now our state test and will take place on Tuesday March 24 (maroon day). All grades, except seniors, will be testing on that day (with juniors taking the actual ACT exam).
SDMyLife has a great ACT prep course and is free to all South Dakota students, and our High School library has some great resources as well.
This is an excellent opportunity for our students and a great adjustment by the state (in my opinion).

The past couple of Business Math classes students have been playing the role of the FOMC (Federal Open Market Committee), with each student representing a Federal Reserve Bank and presenting the economics from the Beige Book for their region. We then voted whether or not to raise or lower the interest rates based on that information.
Both classes voted to lower the rate by .25% for the October meeting (which is what the Fed did), and 1 class (M2) voted no change while the other class (W2) voted to lower by .25% for the Dec. 10 meeting. The press release just came out and the Fed decided to lower the rate by .25% to a current range of 3.5%-3.75%.
