Ready for basketball season?

🏀 Boys Middle School 🏀 Boys High School 🏀
🏀 Girls Middle School 🏀 Girls High School 🏀

Our Middle and High School programs are for athletes looking for a competitive basketball experience focused on skill development, teamwork, discipline, and representing the Flames well both on and off the court.

🔥 WHAT TO EXPECT THIS SEASON

Practices begin in October and are held four days per week, with no Wednesday practices. Final practice days, times, and locations will be announced after registration closes and teams are finalized. Once the season begins, practices continue throughout the season except when replaced by games. Players are expected to attend practices and games, with reasonable allowances for unavoidable conflicts.

🔥 Games begin in mid-November and are primarily played on weekdays, with no Wednesday games. Most games will be in the Spartanburg area, along with a handful of travel games during the season.

🔥 6th graders are eligible for Middle School basketball. Experienced 6th-grade players ready for a more competitive environment should register for Middle School. Families looking for a developmental/recreational option can choose our new Youth Rec Basketball program instead.

🔥 Tryouts may be held depending on registration numbers.

Our goal is to provide local families with a high-quality competitive basketball experience while keeping athletics affordable. At $180 for the season, Flames Basketball offers competitive middle and high school basketball without the higher costs and extensive travel often associated with competitive programs.

Help Us Support Homeschool Student-Athletes!

We’re excited to be part of the Spartanburg Flames, a homeschool sports organization that gives student-athletes the opportunity to compete, build friendships, learn teamwork, and grow both on and off the field. But above all, our main goal is to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ and bring glory to the God of the Bible!

Like many youth sports programs, our organization depends on fundraising and community support to help cover the costs of uniforms, equipment, gym and field rentals, tournament fees, travel, referees, insurance, and other team expenses.

We’re asking our family and friends to partner with us!

Any contribution—big or small—will make a difference and help provide these students with a positive athletic experience.

🏀🔥 OPEN GYM CONTINUES THROUGH SEPTEMBER! 🔥🏀

Looking for some extra playing time before basketball season gets started?

Spartanburg Flames Open Gym is still going strong through the end of September! Come get some shots in, work on your game, play some pickup, and spend time on the court with other athletes.

⏰ 2:30–5:30 PM

🏀 Open to ALL athletes ages 6th - 12th Grade

You do not have to be a current Flames athlete to participate. Whether you're getting ready for the upcoming season, looking for some extra playing time, or just want to play basketball, come join us!

YOU CAN EVEN JOIN US ON LABOR DAY OPEN GYM!!

Open Gym only runs through the end of September, so there are just a few weeks left to take advantage of it.

🏀🔥 YOU ASKED. WE ANSWERED. YOUTH BASKETBALL IS HERE! 🔥🏀

One of the questions we've heard again and again from families is: “What do you have for younger kids?”

Until now, our competitive team opportunities have been limited. But we heard you! This year we're excited to introduce Spartanburg Flames Youth Basketball for boys and girls in 1st–6th grade!

These teams are designed to give younger athletes a place to learn the game, develop their skills, gain confidence, and experience being part of a team.

🏀 Boys: 1st–2nd, 3rd–4th, & 5th–6th
🏀 Girls: 1st–3rd & 4th–6th

Practices will generally be held on weekday evenings beginning in November, and games will be played on Saturdays starting in December. Specific practice schedules will be determined once registration closes and teams are formed.

💲 Early Bird Registration: $80 through September 21
💲 Regular Registration: $90
📅 Registration Deadline: October 1

Have a 6th grader? They have two options! Players who are newer to basketball or still developing their skills will likely be a great fit for the Rec League team, while experienced 6th graders ready for a more competitive team may be a good fit for our Middle School team.

And because a great youth program needs great adults behind it, we're also looking for parent volunteers interested in coaching! If you'd be willing to help lead a team this season, we'd love to hear from you.

It’s time to hit the court! Registration for the 2026–27 Spartanburg Flames Basketball season is officially OPEN!

Join us for our Annual Upstate Eagles/Spartanburg Flames Alumni Baseball Game as former players return to the field for a day of competition, memories, and fun.
