Whitko Baseball:

The Whitko Wildcats play in the sectional semi-final tomorrow morning at 10:00am vs. Woodlan. Monday's schedule is as follows:

Semi-Final 1: 10:00am (Whitko vs. Woodlan)
Semi-Final 2: 30 minutes after conclusion of Game 1
Championship: 90 minutes after conclusion of Game 2

Gate will open at 9:00am
South Adams will clear the facility after Game 2 and reopen gates for Championship game 40 minutes before first pitch. Games 1 & 2 will be session 1. Championship will be session 2. Tickets will need to be purchased for each.

Whitko Baseball:

The Wildcats win Round 1 of Sectional 36, 15-1! Cooper Laukhuf throws a gem only giving up 2 hits and Chandler Cox comes in to close it out. Everybody was involved offensively as the Wildcats tally 10 hits. An excellent effort all the way around. The guys were energized and a whole lot of fun to watch!

The Wildcats are back in action on Monday morning at 10:00am where they will play Woodlan for a chance to play in the sectional championship on Monday evening (4:00pm).

Varsity Baseball:

The Whitko Wildcat Baseball team travels to South Adams this evening to play South Adams in the first round of the Sectional. First pitch is at 5:30pm.

5 Lady Wildcats competed in the Goshen Regional last night.

Performances:
Kira Sordelet: 13th Place - 300m Hurdles (50.74)
Kira Sordelet: 9th Place (Finalist) - Long Jump (16'5")

4x800m Relay Team: 13th Place (10:19)
(Willow Osborn, Jayma & Reese Stonebraker, Hazel Leffers)

4x400m Relay Team: 4th Place (4:03)
(Willow Osborn, Kira Sordelet, Jayma Stonebraker, Hazel Leffers)
*With a time of 4:03, the 4x400 team was just shy of advancing to the state finals*
*SCHOOL RECORD* - The 4x400m Relay team in their last race together, broke the previous school record by 5 seconds!

Congratulations to our Girls Track Team on an incredible season. This season saw 4 school records broken, 5 regional qualifiers, and a group of 13 student-athletes who rooted each other on, lifted each other up, and always put the team first.

Thank you to our 3 seniors - Kira, Kyara, and Reese. Your leadership created an environment of what a team is supposed to be. Dedicated, together, and fun! All 3 of you have had excellent high school careers, and you have a ton of people in your corner as you move into the next phase of your life! Thank you for what you have poured into Whitko Athletics!

Girls Tennis:

#1 Doubles Team of Grace Burnworth & Catherine Deckena competed yesterday after advancing out of the Warsaw Sectional in the individual state bracket. Although they fell to host Northwood, they competed hard and had an incredible season! Grace & Catherine earned All-Conference Honors, they advanced through the sectional, and represented Whitko well throughout the entire season!

Grace & Catherine won a ton of matches and always had fun in the process. These seniors are a fantastic example for our younger athletes on what it means to be a Wildcat. Competing hard, being terrific teammates, and having fun playing a sport they love while representing their community.

Thank you, Grace, Catherine, and our entire Girls Tennis Team for representing Whitko High School, Athletics, and our community so well!

Varsity Softball:

The Lady Wildcats Softball Team concluded their season yesterday in Sectional 36. They fell to the host, Adams Central, 5-15. Freshman Lilly Irons, like she did on a lot of nights, stepped into the circle for the Lady Wildcats and recorded 8 strikeouts. Emma Gavin and Reagan Klepinger also came in to finish the game off. Sophie Keener led the team with a double and a single, recording 2 RBIs. Taylor Long, Meredith Hindbaugh, Lilly Irons, Addison Patrick, and Aliana Westness all recorded a hit as well.

Thank you to our Lady Wildcat Softball team for a terrific season. They constantly encouraged each other, supported their teammates, and competed hard. They were a blast to watch compete all season. This is a young group that will have many exciting seasons ahead!

To our Senior, Taylor Long - Thank you for your competitiveness and leadership. You consistently showed up, led with your voice and by example. Our Softball team was made better by your consistency, hard work, and passion. We wish you the absolute best as you graduate and head off to Purdue. You are going to be successful in everything you do!

Girls Tennis:

#1 Doubles Team of Grace Burnworth & Catherine Deckena advanced through the Warsaw Sectional and will play in Match 1 at Northwood High School on Tuesday, May 26th. Their match will begin at 5:00pm against the #1 Doubles Team of the host, Northwood.
