Weekend Spring Classic update, our Future Red Riots had a strong showing with 2 wins and 1 loss. The kids had a blast and got some great coaching and support from parents Rob Pascale and Steve Amendo on the bench!

Thanks to all the parents who came out to support all the kids, and to our Riots Hockey community, the Future is Bright!

Please join me in congratulating the South Portland/Freeport Middle School, your 2023 Southern Maine Middle School Hockey Roy B2 Division Champions!

They celebrated an 11-5 win against Portland/CE at Family Ice today to end their season.

It’s been an incredible season for these amazing kids and their coaches. We’re incredibly proud of their efforts and more so, of the friendships they’ve established over the last 6-months.

A huge THANK YOU to coaches Seb Leclerc and Jon Feeley for all their time, love, and energy! And thank you to the SPHS hockey boosters for all their support this season!

Well done to our Rioting Falcons! ♥️🤍

Congratulations to the South Portland/Freeport Middle School team as they advance to the third and final round of playoffs! 4-0 win against Mt. Ararat.

The team would also like to extend their congratulations to their elder SoPo/Freeport/Waynflete mates after a hard fought game yesterday and awesome season overall. Well done!

The middle school team will play next Sunday at 3:30 at FIC against Portland/CE in the final game of the season! ♥️🤍

What a fantastic run by these boys! I’m not sure anyone would have expected this after starting the season 3-8. However, they put a run on to end the season that they will cherish for a long time and along the way, some great lifelong friendships were made. I loved seeing the leadership of our seniors out there talking to other players letting them know they got their back. Regardless of outcome, that tells me a lot about this team and the tremendous student athletes we have.

Thank you to all the players and coaches for putting in so much work over the season. You brought a community together and should be proud of taking another step this year. And thank you to the best student section and the best hockey parents in Maine! All of you were awesome!
