Ian Shriner

Ian's passion for salmon fishing began in Swan Bay, Rogers City, Michigan, where he honed his skills in the world of meat rigs.

Drawing from his experiences on Lake Huron, he brought his expertise to Lake Michigan, where he quickly became an invaluable member of our crew after relocating to South Haven. Ian’s dedication to the craft extends beyond fishing—he spends much of his free time custom painting and tying his own meat rigs, flashers, and flies.

A true enthusiast, he lives and breathes meat fishing and is always eager to share his in-depth knowledge, often engaging in long conversations about Rhys heads.

💥March Guest Speaker Spotlight💥

Captain Eric Schippa is a 3rd generation charter fisherman from the port of Saugatuck Michigan. Few other fishermen have been fishing the port for as long or have the family history in the community of fisherman that Eric has behind him.

Eric began charter fishing with his dad, Kevin Schippa, at the age of seven during his summer break from school. At the age of 18, Eric got his US Coast Guard Captains License and bought his first charter boat. He has been a full-time charter captain ever since!

Eric is also a well-known tournament fisherman with multiple first place finishes and numerous top 5 finishes on the great lakes tournament circuit.

Captain Eric Schippa is the result of generations of fishing experience and knowledge on the great lakes that has culminated in the development of one of the best fishermen in West Michigan.

Lots of good stuff coming out tomorrow evening at the South Haven Steelheaders meeting. Goodies from Copper Connects, Ice Strong Outdoors and Blood Run Fishing arrived today.
South Haven American Legion @ 7pm.
Captains round table. Bring questions for a great night of fishy talk. Lots of giveaways. Lots of fun and I’m sure a few good laughs. Rumor has it Bruce Den Otter will be in attendance buying drinks and giving away an all expense paid trip to fish with him on a charter. Open to the public. Come be a part of a great organization and a great evening. See you there.

Winning is cool. Watching your friends win is even cooler. Well deserved win for team Wild Card in the South Haven Steelheaders tournament this weekend. This sport has provided me with some amazing experiences and even better friendships. I am truly blessed to be able to live this life. Big thank you to all the volunteers who put this event on every year and to my crew for always defending our title in the fun division. Such an amazing time! Fish on my friends!
