Yes, the rumors are true! With three active races this year, we will be bringing back the Circuit Awards for a Triple Crown winner!

Our website is currently updated and will track points from all the races.

We'd love to host an award party this year if possible, so stay tuned for details.

If there are any businesses our there that would like to sponsor the awards to help us with cash prizes, that would be greatly appreciated! Please get in touch with us!

The final results are in!

Join us at Joe's Flat Iron Cafe on March 8, 6-8 p.m. for the AWARD PARTY 🍻 to crown our first-, second-, and third-place circuit award winners!

Hors d’euvres will be served, and free beverages will be available for attendees. We’ll be awarding cash prizes to first-, second-, and third-place circuit award winners. Friends, family, and the public are more than welcome to join us!

Standings after Skijor Skowhegan are up!

With two second-place podiums, Molly Thorton and Matt Alexander are in first place.

But we're looking at a tie in fourth place... What is our tiebreaker? If we still have a tie after Skijor Bangor, we'll take the two tied teams and total their run times, and the team with the best time will take that place, while the other will drop to the placing below.

The season's first race has set the track for a great circuit! Award standings are now posted on our website. With only one race so far, the standings are Topsham's top 5 in the pro division.

To help you better understand the circuit awards, we're going to start answering many of the FAQs!

Q: Do I have to participate in all three events to qualify?
A: No, you don't. But the more events you compete in, the more points you can potentially earn.

Q: If I'm on two teams (with the same rider and skier/snowboard, but different horse), do I get double circuit points?
A: No, we'll record points from your best run/placing.

Big news 🎉 With three equestrian skijoring races in Maine, organizers have endorsed creating a circuit point system to crown first-, second-, and third-place season winners in the Pro Divisions.

We are excited to bring current and future races together, creating a culture of competitiveness, sportsmanship, and community within equestrian skijoring.

The top five teams at each individual race will earn the allotted points for their place. Teams will earn one extra point for each race they attend, and in the case of a tie, the fastest total average time will determine the winner, and the runner-up will be bumped to second place.

Skijor Northeast will record and track points earned and publish standings on its website.

Races eligible for circuit points: Skijor Skowhegan, Topsham Skijoring, and Skijor Bangor.

Skijor Northeast was born from the desire to establish equestrian skijoring as a regular sport on the East Coast. With the emergence of a third race, Mary Haley, CEO of MXH Marketing and a founding organizer of Skijor Skowhegan felt it was time to create a group dedicated to promoting the sport as a whole and organizing a circuit.

Skijor Northeast does not directly organize individual races but instead offers guidance, support, and marketing to races in Maine and the Northeast.
