The scheduling for the new courts is tough because it is very weather dependent. The plan right now is as follows:
Installing 8' fence the week of August 30th
Surface should complete the curring period the week of September 7th. There does need to be a final flood test prior to the surfacing process and this may require some adjustments that could take some time.
Surfacing and curring process of acrylic surface will take 5 days and hopefully will happen the week of September 14th.
Installation of the nets, wind/sound screens, 4' fence, clean up and sod installation should hopefully take place the week of September 21.
If all goes well and the weather cooperates we hope to have a ribbon cutting sometime before the end of September, but no promises. More to come as the process proceeds.

To make the pickleball courts a fun experience for everybody, I created a very rough draft of some basic rules to follow while playing at the courts. There have been some issues at other courts and we would like to avoid any possible tension and get everyone on the same page. Please see this rough draft and provide any edits, additions, deletions you think make sense to enhance the playing experience. Thank you for your input.

The asphalt is down for the pickleball courts and we are just awaiting results from the testing (density and flood). So, great progress. We are also meeting with the architects on designing the waiting area and on the landscaping around the courts now that we have a better idea on the amount of money that will be left (around $65,000).
Chris Legg (Town Supervisor) has graciously offered to meet with everyone on Tuesday, August 18th at 7:00 pm. We will meet at the northeast corner of the new pickleball courts (by the playground). Please don't go beyond the orange fencing. Chris will answer any questions or address any concerns that people may have relative to the new courts. If you can't make this meeting, then Chris is very receptive/responsive to emails or phone calls.

Vitale, the contractor is ahead of schedule on the courts, but a lot needs to happen. The remaining activities are weather dependent and the progress will get slowed down by important testing to ensure we have quality courts.

After all of the asphalt is put down there needs to be an asphalt density test, which must be successful. After this test and any corrections, there needs to be a "flood" test to avoid puddling. Corrections would then need to be made if needed prior to starting the 30 day cure period for the asphalt.

I will keep you updated on the schedule as it becomes clearer, but right now we are probably looking at mid to late September if weather holds out and testing goes well. Thank you for your patience.

The contractor has started to lay down the first layer of asphalt ahead of schedule. It's looking good.

A little tough to see in the picture, but this is the slight slope from the walking path down to the courts. There will be a serpentine path for ADA compliance down this slope and this is where we will design in a shaded waiting area.

Rough gravel has now been put down for the courts and is awaiting the next round of compaction testing. The court area inside of the fence will be 192' long by 70' wide. The courts are each 20' wide by 44' long. At both ends of each court will be another 10' and the outside of each court will be 8'. There will be 14' between every two courts. So, plenty of room to get your opponents angle shots.
