What a way to end the YSSA Seaoson.

The city tournament started last Tuesday and we carried our momentum from Burnsville into the city tournament. We started the night with a 13-8 win over the number 2 seed Muth.

We moved on to play the number 1 seed Juhl who we have never beaten before. We beat them 14-6 I believe. So we moved into the Championship game tonight. We played hard but unfortunately came up short and lost 14-8.

Since it was a double elimination tournament we had to play one more. We played our hearts and we were down 6-3 and the girls put up a 5 spot and with a controversial call the inning ended there. We just had to hold them to win it all.

It all ended with a foul ball strikeout. We won the championship 8-6.

When this season started if you would have told me we would win the city championship I wouldn’t have believed it. These girls have shown us more heart and determination than sports team I have ever watched. We as coaches couldn’t be more proud.

We would like to thank each and everyone of our parents for putting up with all the practices that we had. I know it can be hard to juggle all the events and we appreciate it.

Sorry I am horrible at remembering to update here but here goes.

We went to Burnsville, Mn this weekend for the 2026 Midwest Invitational. It was hot. After 2 disappointing losses on Saturday in pool play we went on to Sunday as the #3 seed. The first game we lost 14-11 we were down this whole game but made interesting in the end. The second game we never really got our groove and lost 13-3.

Both of these teams are all star teams made up of players from all over the Minneapolis Metro area.

So we started day 2 at 8:00 Am with a game against the number 2 seed. Not the best start to the day and took our first loss in the double elimination tournament. Can’t remember the score but we were down early and never crawled back into it.

The #2 seed went on to beat the number one seed and move on to the championship. We now needed to beat the number one seed ourselves in order to move on to the Championship. They beat us
14-10 on Saturday but we were letting that discourage us.

As the temperature starting rising so did the Royals. We took an early lead and never looked back. We finished the game with a 13-11 win.

So now we were in the championship. We went into the championship game with our heads held high after knocking out the number 1 seed.

We started strong again and never gave up . We played hard and we beat the team that had handed us 2 pretty big losses 13 - 10.

Since this was their first loss of the day we had to beat them again.

It was now getting to be the hottest part of the day so a decision was made to shorten the game to 5 innings vs the originally scheduled 7.

The game went back and forth and but unfortunately we ended up losing 14-9.

We are so proud of everyone of the girls on this team as everyone one of them has progressed in some way this year.

We are looking forward to our City tournament the next two weeks followed but the State in 2 weeks.
