Sometimes history has a way of catching up with us.

For weeks , we’ve been telling the story of Callaway Hills in chronological order — tracing the horses, the breeding decisions and the bloodlines that built a dynasty.

And this morning, on the green shavings in Louisville, a piece of that history walked back into the ring.

Callaway’s Fox News, shown by Ava Stachowski, was named Reserve World’s Champion in the Two-Year-Old Fine Harness Stallions & Geldings class at the World’s Championship Horse Show.

He is by Heir Emerald and out of Undulata’s Miracle Whip.

Today, we pause to remember another American legend.

Recently, we’ve spent a great deal of time sharing the story of Betty Weldon — a remarkable woman whose vision and determination left a legacy that continues at Callaway Hills.

Today, America lost another extraordinary woman: Dolly Parton. She was 80 years old. (Reuters)

For generations, Dolly gave us far more than music. She gave us unforgettable songs, movies and the stage — but perhaps even more importantly, she gave back. Through her Imagination Library, millions of children discovered the gift of reading. Her generosity, humor, authenticity and unmistakable Tennessee spirit made her truly one of a kind.

And anyone who knows Ricky Cook knows there has never been any secret about his love for Dolly Parton. He has been one of her biggest fans for years.

So Callaway Hills has decided that Dolly’s name — and a little of her spirit — will live on here, too.

In tribute to the one and only Dolly Parton, every filly foaled at Callaway Hills in 2027 will be given a name celebrating Dolly — her songs, her story, her characters and the remarkable legacy she leaves behind.

Two very different women.
Two American originals.
Two legacies built by knowing exactly who they were — and never being afraid to dream big.

Rest easy, Dolly. We’ll save a few names for you. ❤️
