Finished a fun weekend in our county tournament. Had a lot of fun, bowled with friends and some new folks as well. I admit after the first game I was a little nervous, but I pulled it together. Series for the weekend was 1999! 167-224-242-258-212-211-237-204-244

Now to relax and prep for the military high rollers in January.

Last night I started a new league, it’s a more challenging type because the conditions of the lanes are more challenging. We also bowl 4 games instead of 3. For the night I threw a 150, 169, 171, and 194. I am learning to trust my equipment and myself. I am throwing the ball along a path I haven’t really tried, mostly from fear of failure. Also, I had my Storm Ion re-drilled, and am now pleased with the result.

Yes, this can be a metaphor for life. We all fall into our comfort zones, nothing big and exciting happens, but it’s safe and we know what’s coming. To grow, to live, we need to be willing to try something slightly different. Do I stick with the plain bagel with plain cream cheese or do I try the raisin cinnamon with a flavored spread? It can be as simple as that. Each of those games I mentioned before I progressively improved because I was willing, I’ll be it nervous, to try something new and different. It won’t always be a good experience, but if you learned something and can take something from it, it was still a success.
