Q: Who is the gymnast most likely to be recognized by an extraterrestrial being?

A: Cathy Rigby McCoy

Shout out to Cathy Rigby - on this hallowed Extraterrestrial Culture Day - whose photo was included on one of the Voyager Golden Records and launched aboard the Voyager spacecraft in 1977. The records contain sounds and images selected to portray the diversity of life and culture on Earth, and are intended for any intelligent extraterrestrial life form who may find them. The Voyager 1 probe is currently the farthest human-made object from Earth, and the image of Cathy Rigby stunningly captures and communicates the physical capabilities of the human race.

Per aspera ad astra.

We are so glad that found her joy in gymnastics again. Her joy was so pure, that it brought us joy — and for that, we are grateful. And this quote from her is so powerful - it really resonates with us. Does it resonate with you?
