As we near the final hour of 2025, I want to wish everyone a happy New Year! (I apologize for the long read) I’d also like to thank everyone who made this 2025 race season somewhat of a success; Show Me Lawn Service, CNJ Signs and Wraps, Show Me Guttering, Outlaw Wings of OKC, Liquid & Powdercoat Finishes, My girlfriend Mallorie, My Grandma and Grandpa, Dakota, Grayson, My Mom, My Dad, Stepmom Jami, Larry Bloss and everyone who came out to watch me race! Without everyone’s help and support, I would have parked the car midway through the season and regrouped for next year. This season we were plagued by DNFs despite many late nights in the shop.
However, for a 21 year old car that’s been in hibernation for nearly a decade, I’d say not bad. Even though I threatened to burn the ol girl down to a crisp SEVERAL times this year, it did really well considering the circumstances. I think that speaks to two things: 1. How affordable lightning sprints can truly be, and 2. The caliber of car that the Canaday Brothers as well as Grandpa and Dad were putting together. That being said, the Canamelt has seen better days. It’ll be getting torn down for repairs and a full refresh, but I can promise it will be back, with one hell of a vengeance.
While that car is being rebuilt, the Speedway Specialties shop turns its attention to the two very solid pieces we’ve been putting together so far this offseason. We planned to have the first one done for the 2025 season, but parts availability, incorrect parts, and custom parts gone wrong stopped that plan in its tracks. The second car is a bad fast bullet from out west that is getting a full-blown redo as we speak.
As we look ahead to the 2026 season, be on the lookout for sponsorship openings and updates which I will be posting to our racing page as well as my personal FB page. Hopefully everyone has a happy and safe New Year, we’ll see you at the races in 2026!
