Illini Club's Springfield 2A race this past weekend was won by none other than Scott Grant ! Scott took the top 4 places and Chad Compton placed 5th and 6th, Scott again at 7th and 9th while Terry Rhyne placed 8th and long ender Jeff, JS Smith placed 10th. 79 birds were competing from 6 lofts. Congrats Gentlemen!

Congratulations to Scott Grant for winning Illini's Springfield 1A this past Sunday! Scott had an amazing speed of 1912.747 ypm! This makes Scott a triple crown winner , winning 3 Illini races in a row! A Triple Crown in pigeon racing trumps a triple crown in horse racing. Pigeons have to find their way home, horses run in a circle and ride in a trailer to go home. Pigeons fly hundreds of miles in one race and horses only run a mile and a quarter. Horses race with a jockey driving them toward the finish line while pigeons are self motivators!
Terry Rhyne takes 2nd place with a speed of 1860 ypm , Scott also taking 3rd and 4th place and long ender, Jeff Smith, finishes 5th. Chad Compton takes 6th place followed by Mitchell Brown and Bill Linnabary at 7th and 8th to finish out the top 10%. 90 birds were competing from 7 lofts.

Congratulations Scott Grant for winning 1st Place in Illini's Lebanon 2A last Sunday! Mitchell Brown was right behind Scott taking 2nd and Terry taking 3rd! Illini club had 7 flyers last week and shipped 112 birds. Congrats gentlemen!Good luck next week!

Scott Grant takes the 1st 3 places in Illini Racing Pigeon Club's 1st OB race of the year with a top speed of 1750.921 ypm! Mitch Brown follows up taking 4th place at 1691.161 ypm while Terry Rhyne clocks in at 5th place at 1679 ypm.
After that, Mitch had 3 birds come in at 6th , 7th, and 8th while Chad Comptons birds took 9th and 10th!
All with speeds above 1600 ypm! Congrats gentlemen!

Next weekend marks the beginning of Illini Racing Pigeon Club's 2026 Old Bird Series. We will be basketing birds Saturday afternoon April 18th, and they'll be released from Lebanon MO Sunday morning on the 19th.
We have a total of 24 members combine wide committed to flying full time now. That lowers the full time flyers fee to 325.00 to fly all combine races. Part time fees are 50.00 per race.

Illini Racing Pigeon Club will be having its annual Young Bird Auction this Saturday, April 11th. The doors open at 1030 am. Scott Grant will be frying fish and there will be sides too. Hope to see you there.

Dan Waters, a long time member of the Illini Racing Pigeon Club, was laid to rest yesterday and now resides in the presence of His Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Dan was a very active member of Illini club for 45+ yrs and loved the longer races.
Dan championed our longest race, 600 miles by winning it two years in a row at the club level and the combine level. We're all gonna miss hanging out with Dan and his dog Buddy. Rest easy friend.
