Well we made the trip to Gladwin Vintage Snowmobile Races and knock off some ring rust. This was our first time touching ice this season. Literally have no test time this season up till today. Mother nature hasn't been consistent with the cold weather to get on the ice. And being busy with the new sled build, it just hasn't worked out..
We started off with the 440 Improved with around 18 sleds in the class. Was a bit nervous with the old fanner being that I swapped the motor back to the old motor and changed a few things from what I learned last season but still have a few things to work out, like a holeshot. Lol.. With that being said, we made the final and started out near the front. Worked up to the lead and the final lap there was wreck resulting in a red flag and unfortunately for me, a restart. The restart was not my friend and I finished 2nd overall.
Next class was the 340 Improved where there was a whopping 28 sleds entered in the class. Three heats and only top 3 sleds in each heat would advance. There was some fast sleds that would not be seeing the final. We made the final and unfortunately was just not able to step on the top of the podium and finished 2nd overall again.
All in all a great day. Can't thank the track crew at Gladwin for building a great track. And all the people behind the scenes and the volunteers like the scoring people, corner flagged and even the bad ass announcer we had to today Knothead Productions.
Also need to give a shout out and thank you to our 2026 sponsors.
