Venom Springborn 9U Earn Walk-Off Win Over The lucky penny

Venom Springborn 9U took Thursday's game in dramatic fashion, with a 9-8 walk-off victory over The lucky penny. The game was tied at eight in the bottom of the fifth when Matthew B singled, scoring one run.
Despite falling down by five runs in the first inning, The lucky penny tried to fight back. The lucky penny closed the gap by scoring on a single, a single, a ground out, a hit by pitch, and a walk.
The lucky penny opened the scoring in the top of the first thanks to two doubles. The lucky penny first got on the board when Daxton F doubled, scoring one run.
Venom Springborn 9U captured the lead, 7-2, in the bottom of the first after William A singled up the middle, Clayton L was struck by a pitch, Ashton R walked, Maverick N walked, Gunner M walked, Jaxson S walked, and Matthew walked, each scoring one run.
A walk by Matthew extended the Venom Springborn 9U lead to 8-4 in the bottom of the third inning.
The lucky penny tied the game in the top of the fifth thanks to a hit by a pitch, and a walk by Asher A.
Mason C earned the win for Venom Springborn 9U. The hurler surrendered seven hits and four runs over three innings, striking out six and walking three. Colton G took the loss for The lucky penny. The pitcher went one and two-thirds innings, allowing eight runs on one hit, striking out four and walking 11. Matthew appeared in relief for Venom Springborn 9U.
William, Matthew, and Jaxon L each collected one hit for Venom Springborn 9U. Matthew led Venom Springborn 9U with three runs batted in. The third baseman went 1-for-1 on the day. Venom Springborn 9U had patience at the plate, accumulating 18 walks for the game. Gunner, Jaxson, Mason, and Maverick led the team with three free passes each. Gunner stole two bases. Venom Springborn 9U were sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Gunner had the most chances in the field with 11.
