Tonight North High celebrated its All School Awards Night! Congratulations to these four seniors and Lady Raiders on their well deserved awards!
Haley Post - Edgar A. Stubenrauch Award - Presented annually to the female athlete who exhibits the best overall record combining athletics and scholarship. Haley was 2nd Team All-Conference for soccer and recognized as team captain. Her extracurricular activities included Treasurer of HOSA, leading the Christmas Drive for DELTA, participating in the Science Olympiad, and was an officer of the National Honor Society. While being very active in extracurricular activities, Haley had the discipline and determination to achieve a 4.0 GPA while tackling a rigorous AP course load. Her kindness, integrity, outgoing personality, and work ethic earned the highest level of respect from her classmates, teachers, teammates, and coaches. Coach Conway stated, “I loved the positive energy she always brought with her, influencing others to feel better, and be better.”
Teagan Peitzmeier - Dalrymple-Young Award - Established to honor two women physical education teachers and coaches who were instrumental in the establishment and growth in girls' sports in the Sheboygan Area School District. It is also designed to recognize a senior female athlete who displayed scholarship, citizenship, and athletic participation in girls basketball or girls swimming. Teagan received 3 varsity letters in Basketball and 2 in Soccer. As a captain of our basketball team, this recipient earned the respect of her teammates and coaches with her unselfish, team-first approach, compassion for others, dedication, and contagious positive energy. Teagan also embraced her role as a student, achieving a 3.937 GPA, while balancing a demanding academic schedule with athletics, work, and service. Beyond athletics, academics, and work, she found the time to serve her community as Vice President of Best Buddies, as a volunteer for Feed My Starving Children, as a student leader with Wize-N-Up, and as Head of synchronized swimming for this year's EXPO. Coach Conway said, “Teagan chose to enhance her high school experience through sports, leadership, and service, and she will undoubtedly continue to bring positive energy and commitment into her future.”
Ella Spielman - Captain David J. Widder Memorial Award - Established by the graduating class of 1955, to honor and perpetuate the memory of Captain Widder who lost his life in the service of his country. While in school, he proved himself notable in the areas of scholastic achievement, character, leadership and service. Since 1965, this award has been given to a student who is a senior and has exemplified a high standard of character, leadership and service. Ella received 2 varsity letters in Tennis and 3 in Basketball and Soccer. Ella was a valuable member of our basketball team since her sophomore year, always putting the needs of the team before her own, promoting a culture that others wanted to be a part of. Outside of the sports she played, her extracurricular activities included Executive Officer of the National Honor Society, Model United Nations, and Innovator Fellowship. While committed to school organizations and to being a great teammate, she was also committed to being a great student, achieving a 4.0 GPA while challenging herself with a rigorous course load, including multiple Advanced Placement classes. Coach Conway shared, “Her dedication in the classroom reflected the same work ethic, discipline, and commitment that she brought to our team. A leader whose positive influence extended far beyond the boundaries of the court.”
Bryn Adams - North High Sportswoman of the Year - Presented on an annual basis to a senior female athlete who is active in sports, shows enthusiasm, spirit and has proven herself dedicated to sports. The intent of this award is to honor the female athlete who has contributed to the image and spirit of female athletics. Bryn received 2 varsity letters in Volleyball and 4 in Basketball. Coach Conway shared, “Bryn has made a lasting impact on our basketball program by consistently bringing energy, enthusiasm, and a willingness to do whatever she could to help the team.” Her competitive mindset led to success on the court, and her being recognized in back-to-back seasons as 2nd Team All-Conference and on the All-Defensive team. She also left her mark on the basketball program's All-time leaderboard in multiple categories, most notably as the All-time leader in both Total Rebounds and Total Steals. Bryn wasn't just great on the court, she was also great in the classroom, achieving an impressive 3.875 GPA while participating in two sports, in a manner that contributed positively to the image and spirit of female athletics.
