πŸ’™πŸ’› Thank You for a Special Season, Lady Trojan Family πŸ’›πŸ’™

The 2025–26 season came to a close with the Lady Trojans finishing 11–11 in the regular season and competing in sectionals. It was a year that showed real growth, resilience, and progress β€” even when the challenges got tougher late in the season.

Tri-Central opened the year with one of the program’s best starts in over a decade (8–3) and showed throughout the season that this group could compete with anyone when locked in. As the competition ramped up in the second half, the lessons got tougher β€” but so did the team. One of the biggest areas of growth from last season was on the defensive end, where the Lady Trojans took a clear step forward.

This group also embraced an unselfish style of play, assisting on 70% of made baskets and consistently feeding the post. That ball movement helped create opportunities all over the floor.

πŸ’™πŸ’› Lady Trojans’ Season Ends in Sectional Opener Loss to Northfield πŸ’›πŸ’™

The Tri-Central Lady Trojans’ season came to a close Tuesday night with a 58–32 loss to Northfield High School (the Norse) in the opening round of Sectional 55 at Southern Wells High School. While the result ended the postseason run, the night reflected the fight, growth, and resilience that defined this group all season.

Tri-Central opened the game with strong energy, competing well through the first six minutes before Northfield’s size began to take over inside. As the game wore on, the Norse used their height advantage to control the glass and convert high-percentage looks near the rim, slowly building separation on the scoreboard.

The Lady Trojans found their best offensive rhythm in the second quarter, but were unable to pair scoring runs with consistent defensive stops. Over time, Northfield’s rebounding advantage and interior presence proved difficult to overcome as the Norse pulled away in the second half.

Senior center Logan Creason led Tri-Central with 11 points and 7 rebounds, battling through physical play in the paint all night. Nora Young added 8 points, while Claire Conrad contributed 7 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 steals, providing energy on both ends. Olivia Dempsey chipped in 4 points, 3 steals, and 2 rebounds, while Angela Dempsey helped facilitate with 4 assists.

Head Coach Mathew Corn reflected on the challenge and the season as a whole following the final buzzer:

β€œThe effort was good tonight, the ex*****on just wasn’t there. We knew we were going to be outmatched in size. Our rotations, as the game progressed, weren’t as crisp as they needed to be to disrupt them and their size. Offensively, we found rhythm in the second quarter but never were able to pair that with getting stops on the defensive end. Overall, I am so proud of this team and what they accomplished this year.”

As the season closes, the program extends a heartfelt thank you to its seniors β€” Logan Creason, Angela Dempsey, Olivia Dempsey, Cheyanne Keown, Jocelyn Lauer, and Nora Young β€” for the leadership, effort, and commitment they brought to Lady Trojan Basketball.

Though the season ended Tuesday night, the impact of this group and the progress made this year will continue to shape the program moving forward.

πŸ’™πŸ’› Thank you for the memories. Go Lady Trojans.

πŸ’™πŸ’› Lady Trojans Use Road Test at Delphi as Final Tune-Up for Sectionals πŸ’›πŸ’™

The Tri-Central Lady Trojans wrapped up the regular season Thursday night with a 57–39 loss on the road at Delphi High School, using the conference matchup as an important measuring stick heading into postseason play.

Tri-Central stayed within striking distance through the first half, executing one of its more controlled offensive performances of the season. The Lady Trojans slowed the tempo, valued possessions, and showed the ability to dictate pace β€” a key focus as sectionals approach. However, offensive rhythm proved harder to find in the second half as Delphi pulled away.

Senior center Logan Creason led the way with a strong interior performance, finishing with 22 points and 4 rebounds, continuing to be a reliable scoring option as postseason play nears. Layla Baldwin added 4 points, 4 rebounds, and 3 assists, while Angela Dempsey contributed across the stat sheet with 2 assists, 3 steals, and 4 rebounds. The Lady Trojans also showed improved ball movement early, consistently getting into offensive sets and generating quality looks in the first half.

Head Coach Mathew Corn pointed to both the positives and the areas that must sharpen before the postseason begins:

β€œWe really played one of our better offensive first halves of the season. We weren’t great defensively, we weren’t physical at all. We allowed them to get to the paint too much. We just struggled in the third quarter finding any rhythm offensively. We just didn’t attack the same way that we did in the first half. Going into sectionals, we have to value every possession on both ends of the floor and value every single detail of those possessions.”

The game reinforced important postseason themes: controlling pace, maintaining offensive aggression for four quarters, and tightening defensive physicality in the paint.
