Hi friends! Andrew here with a message about the fall and the future of RC Sports. Unfortunately, Ava and I have made the decision not to continue holding public races for the foreseeable future. Though we’ve had some great success and made amazing memories with RC Sports, the cost (& opportunity cost) of owning, promoting, running and maintaining the track and hosting racing events is very high, and after three years of promoting and well over 100 events without enough people coming out, I must sadly conclude that there is just not enough interest in RC racing events from our target demographic to justify this expense. With no realistic path to profitability, it’s time for me to direct my entrepreneurial attention and resources elsewhere. Cash4RC, my primary business and a leader in the RC resale industry, has continued to grow and would benefit greatly from absorbing the space that RC Sports occupies. Meanwhile, my family has grown as well, and deserves more of my time and attention than I have been able to give while working multiple RC jobs.
Cash4RC is doing awesome and is "going places" on a national scale - it will be good for me to have more time to dedicate to my real business. I am looking forward to having more time to share the adventures we've been going on with Cash4RC via social media as well. Give Cash4RC a follow at the link below to keep up with what we're doing over there.

Some RC racing options in the Green Bay area will continue: our dirt track builder and title sponsor DJ White has stepped up to host three Saturday outdoor-only (closed shop) dirt oval races going into the fall. I will share some info on these races here on the RC Sports page but for full information and discussion we welcome you to follow the new dirt-track-specific page at the link below. Event dates are September 27, October 11, and October 25.

Also, Fast & Fun Toy and Hobby (formerly Hobbytown Green Bay) is expanding their racing offerings and will be hosting Tuesday-night racing on a small indoor oval at The Bar on Holmgren Way on Tuesday nights throughout the winter (Classes: Losi Nascar, Arrma Mojave Grom, Losi Sprint, and potentially our 27T Supercar class). Fast & Fun uses the same timing system that we do so your transponders will work over there. Give them a follow at the link below:

As for indoor off-road racing, there is the possibility that off-road racing here at our Seymour location can continue if a club/group would like to form and operate some races. We are likely to remodel the pit space into expanded Cash4RC space, but the carpeted track area will probably remain usable. If enough people are interested in working together to host some private for-fun club events on the track space, with members setting up and taking down the track, running races etc, it could be possible for off-road racing to continue here at the Cash4RC location. Please reach out to me and/or comment below if this is something you’d like to be a part of.
An indoor RC racetrack is an extremely tough business but if anyone would like to take this opportunity to take a stab at it, there is a big opportunity at hand - three area indoor tracks have closed in the last 3 months leaving many racers displaced from Appleton all the way to Upper Michigan. I have significant resources (track features, pipes, pit tables, track designs, class structure, large parts inventory, finish line etc) that I would be very happy to hook up a new track or entrepreneur with who would like to keep RC racing alive and going in the area. I’d love to see our hard work live on and I know many others would too, and would even volunteer some time to see it happen.
I want to thank each and every one of you for being a part of the 3-year journey that has been the public Seymour run of RC Sports. This is a very tough decision for me personally, as I have invested years of my life, thousands of hours of research and work, and a small fortune into this endeavor, and taken my family and friends along for the ride as well. I knew starting out that it would be very difficult to figure out a way to make an indoor RC track justify the enormous time and financial investment, but it was a lifelong dream of mine to give it a try and I gave it my all. I hope that you could feel that when you attended events here at our track. I am so grateful for the support we have received over that time and for those that bought into our unique RC event concepts and joined in the fun. Ava and I have made so many amazing friendships through RC Sports that we will cherish forever. Thank you for being a part of it 🙂
Waving the checkered flag for now,
Andrew & Ava
