SHS Youth Flag Football league is back and we are ready to meet our future OWLS!

The league is open to 2nd, 3rd and 4th grade elementary students at our elementary schools as well as, Immanuel, Sauers and St. Ambrose.

There is no cost to sign up, but there will be a small fee for shirts once the league has started.

Practices will start September 5th and will be held at Redding elementary and games will be on Saturday mornings. Games will be held at the SHS high school game field or practice field.

Depending on numbers each school will have their own team. Some schools with lower numbers will be combined.

Each team will have a head coach and an assistant coach. Please reach out to league coordinator, Jacob Toppe, if you are interested in coaching! 8125281525

SAYFL was created to fill the gap when Seymour Community School Corporation ended the elementary school football program over 10 years ago. After the end of the 2022 Season, SAYFL was approached by SCSC to provide support for the intended startup of an Inter-mural 5th and 6th grade football program to begin fall of 2023. The board was pleased to hear that the school corporation was interested in resuming this critical initiative and voted overwhelmingly to support them!

Last week we delivered equipment and gear to the newly renovated 5th and 6th Grade Center Gym to support more than 120 athletes this fall! We will deliver TackleBar equipment to the Boy’s and Girls Club Seymour this week to support the Seymour Youth League initiative with Flag and TackleBar football for players not yet in the 5-6th grade level. We are also finalizing significant financial contributions to both agencies to ensure that the health of their programs will continue well into the future.
We want to thank our SAYFL families for their participation, volunteerism, and trust of your student athletes over the past 10 seasons!

We want to thank the Boys and Girls Club Seymour’s -Seymour Youth League for their contributions and support to SAFYL.

We want to thank the Seymour High School Football Program for their many years of incredible partnership and support of our program.

We also want to send our heartfelt gratitude to all of the individuals that have contributed to SAYFL as Coaches, Parent Volunteers, Student Field Support, Student Cheer Coaches and Board members. You made a difference in the lives of every student athlete that participated in our program for a decade.

We are grateful to have had the opportunity to serve and to ensure the youth of our community continues to express their talent on the field!

This Wednesday from 5:30-7:00pm we will have another equipment turn in set up at the SAYFL trailer on the SHS practice field.

Last night we had a great Youth Jackson Bowl with Brownstown Central 56ers Football. Brownstown came out on top 14-8 after a last minute touchdown. Was a great game for both teams, and we are looking forward to doing it again next year.
Good luck to all our SAYFL teams this saturday, as we have our championship games starting at 10am at Seymour High School.

We will be rescheduling for this week, and parents will be notified as soon as we can confirm a time.
We are canceling due to coaching/volunteer availability - we will try and reschedule for either tomorrow or Thursday, or both.
