Quick DNA tip:
You'll order the kit(s) 'Dog DNA Fingerprint/Profile $35' and at time of ordering you DO NOT enter any dog info, just the number of kits. Once you get the kit(s), follow the instructions for pulling the cheek swab DNA (you're going for epithelial cells, not saliva), then go inside and log into your Orivet account and ACTIVATE your kit(s) by entering the barcode info and then entering each dog's info.

Make sure you enter the correct registered name AND registration number (I will require this); if the dog is appendix registered, it DOES NOT have a registered name so you'll use it's registration number for both the register name and registration number.

For multiple sires, once the kit(s) are activated, you'll then go to 'Parentage Request' and you'll select the dam, sire, and each puppy and submit it but you'll do it multiple times because you have to do it once for each sire.

The Association is aware of the proposal shared publicly by American Ranch Dog Trials before being formally submitted to the HTCA Board.

HTCA has worked with these individuals in the past, and those arrangements ended when costs and operational responsibilities shifted without clear, enforceable contracts, creating unanticipated financial burden for the association.

HTCA events are structured so funds are returned to contestants and the breed, not private profit, and all proposals must be reviewed through a formal board process rather than public hype.
