INDIANAPOLIS — Kenzi Henkle was seeded last in the 200 meters going into Friday’s Girls Track and Field State Finals, but she certainly didn’t finish there. She broke her own school record once again in the last meet of the season.

Hi Parents and Atheletes, thank you for a great season here at Seymour. Thank you to the parents and the community for supporting our owls. I couldn't be more proud of the season we've had. Thank you seniors for all your hard work and dedication, we can't wait to see what you do next.

Coach B is heading out for Japan tomorrow and won't be back until the 20th. If you have any questions or concerns please reach out through Facebook or to Coach Sunbury.

We plan to host the boys banquet on the last weekend of June or the first weekend in July. We know some of you may not be able to make it and that is okay. We will provide more details at a later time.

The girls banquet is TBD, and we will update this post when things are set so be on the look out.

RECORD BREAKERS!!!

Our 4x100 relay team broke their own school record from last year with an incredible time of 50.36! On top of that, Kenzie Henkle shattered her own 200m dash school record with a blazing 25.88 and is headed to the State Finals!

Congratulations to the entire Seymour Lady Owls Track Team on an amazing season. We are so proud of everything this team accomplished and can’t wait to see what’s ahead next year.

Seymour’s boys track team boasted the best local finish at the Brownstown Central Sectional on Thursday night, taking second place behind five champions and two more runners up.

Boys came up just short tonight, it was a tough meet but everyone competed great! I couldn't of asked for a better first season with this group and I can't wait to see what they accomplish in the future. Congratulations to Salem on winning tonight and good luck to everyone moving onto Regionals.

Back-to-back Tri-County Champions! 2025 & 2026 🏆🏆

The boys’ track & field team brought home the 2026 Tri-County Championships tonight at Columbus East High School, defeating Jennings County, Columbus Northside, and Columbus Central.

Your boys are coming home with another trophy! What an absolutely amazing meet. Once again, we had so many PRs that I lost count. This was a full team effort, and we wouldn’t have won without every one of them. I’m so proud of this team and all their hard work.

The girls finished third tonight, but they worked their tails off. There were tons of first place finishes, but it just wasn’t enough. I know they’ll bounce back at conference. Time to focus up and be great!

Parents & Athletes. Everyone has tomorrow off, enjoy the weekend, get some rest and get ready for next week!

What am absolute dog fight yesterday. Everyone competed across the board last night and we had TONS of Pr's. Even though both the girls and boys got second last night I couldn't be more proud of the fight they showed. It's time to move on to Shelbyville tomorrow night!
