Happy 90th birthday to Sara Mae Berman! She was one of the primary movers and shakers because she was not only a runner; but a hands-on worker, legislator, organizer, and outspoken great example for the advancement of women in running. And still is a dear friend! Photo is of the 8 women who were the first women runners in the first Boston Marathon that OFFICIALLY allowed women—1972!! Sara Mae is on the far right!

To every runner, walker, volunteer, sponsor, partner, vendor, speaker, performer, and community member who made the 2026 Right to Run Celebration possible…. thank you!

This weekend was about so much more than crossing a finish line. It was about honoring the women who came before us, celebrating the power of movement and community, and creating space for connection, courage, joy, and belonging right here in Seneca Falls.

We hope you leave this weekend feeling empowered, inspired, and reminded that your voice, your story, and your presence matter.

We’re thrilled to welcome back Running the Roc as a 2026 Right to Run partner!

With roots right here in the Rochester area, this female-founded running club continues to build an incredible community of runners through connection, encouragement, and empowerment. With locations in Fairport and Rochester, they’ve created a space where runners of all paces and backgrounds can feel supported every step of the way.

We’re honored to have them join us again for the Right to Run weekend in 2026. Be sure to look for their crew out on the race course tomorrow and say hello! 👟✨

This weekend, we’re proud to serve as the start and finish line for the Right to Run race in Seneca Falls, the birthplace of the women’s rights movement.

From the legacy of Elizabeth Cady Stanton and Lucretia Mott to today’s runners and walkers, this event connects past to present in a powerful way. Each step through these historic streets honors the determination and resilience it took to secure the right to vote.
