Smith Cotton lost in District play to Blue Springs 75-53. Dax Wiskur led the way in scoring with 25 points and Tay Tay Bennett had 16 points and 10 rebounds.
Coach Scanlon: “Although we did not meet our goal of winning in Districts we finished the season with a 19-8 record. The most wins in program history in the last 25 years. Dax Wiskur, Mike Stasyuk, and Jake Wise had really good senior years. They were good leaders and we will miss them moving forward.”

Smith Cotton won 66-47 over Capital City on Friday night. Leading scorers were Mike Stasyuk with 15 points and Max Lyles with 14 points. Jake Wise had 9 points making the start on Senior Night. Simon Gladush and Tay Tay bennett both had 9 points. Dax Wiskur chipped in with 8.

Smith Cotton lost to Helias 45-63 on 2/23.

Coach Scanlon:" We had 25 turnovers and that cost us the game. For the first time all year we didnt handle the ball well. Credit to Helias for outplaying us. They played harder and smarter. We need to have 3 good practices so we can be ready for senior night on Friday.”

JV played Helias on 2/23 and lost 40-54.
Leading scorer was David Boggs with 15 points.

Coach Weymuth: “I was very proud of the effort and intensity our guys had in the second half. They didn’t give up and stayed together for the most part. David’s scoring and Armand’s presence on defense really got the guys going. We’re looking to close out the season Friday on a high note.”

The Tigers played California on 2/20 defeating them 89-34.
Coach Scanlon:I’m really proud of how the guys competed last night. We played some really good basketball on both ends of the floor and stayed locked in for four quarters. Dax had a big night with 34 points and really set the tone offensively. Grayson added 14 and made some key plays when we needed them, and Mike chipped in 13 while doing all the little things that helped us win. It was a total team effort, and the guys deserved this one.” Record 18-6
