Merry (early) Christmas! We have some important/exciting news to share-

1. We have a brand new dock! HUGE thank you to Tom Edwards, Randy Lohr, Mark Ewert, Ron Milby, Vaughn Pierson, Don Boswell, and Larry Haas for their work on our new dock! Excellent job and very much appreciated!

2. Welcome to our new members (voted in on the December meeting) as well as our new President- Randy Lohr, and Vice President- Jerry Welch! That said- a huge thank you to retired President Tom Edwards and Vice President Ron Milby for their years of service!

3. Reminder that Second Sunday Breakfast is cancelled for January. We would like to get it back up and running for February if we get volunteers. Please see the sign up sheets in the clubhouse bar room or contact Katrina ([email protected]) if you are interested. There are also many other volunteer opportunities if interested!

4. Our membership applications were revised September 2025 to include volunteer hours for 1st year members and an application deadline of November 30th. All old copies have been removed from the website and clubhouse- please destroy any old copies if you have them. New versions are available online and in the clubhouse bar room.

5. For those who are on our email list- we have had some issues getting emails out for several months. We are working on this and hope to be sending out monthly newsletters again in January. Thank you for hanging in there with us!

6. Winning raffle numbers for December were 131 & 59.

Happy Early Thanksgiving Everyone! We have some Important Club Announcements:

- Members: dues MUST be turned in by November 30th or automatic membership termination will occur. Please reach out to Secretary Katrina Schmitt (call or text 309-232-4107 / email [email protected]) if you are unsure if your dues are still outstanding. If mailed, the envelope must be postmarked by November 30th to meet the deadline. Payments can be submitted to any board member or mailed to Secor Sportsman's Club, PO Box 115, Secor IL 61771.

- Second Sunday Breakfast: We will be cancelling the breakfast for December & January (February status unknown). We are cancelling due to low attendance and volunteer challenges (burn out & lack of participation). We are in need of volunteers to join a "rotation" or similar structure to keep this event going. Specifically we are in need of individuals who are interested in learning how to setup the kitchen, front end, and those interested in helping cook.

- Seeking volunteers: We have sign-up sheets and volunteer information in the bar room on the side tables for the upcoming year. Please consider signing up to ensure we can continue hosting events and running smoothly. Need not be a member to volunteer- meaning if you have a high school student needing hours, we may have work for them! If you are not a member and wish to volunteer, please contact Katrina Schmitt (contact info above).

Hello SSC Pistol League Shooters,
Becky will be unavailable for the SECOND SUNDAY SHOOT this month, so we are holding our event on (SATURDAY), NOVEMBER 22nd. It will start at 9:00 and end at noon. It is open to the public, so invite your friends & family shooters.
Breakfast & Trap Shoot will be held on the SECOND SUNDAY AS USUAL.

Thank you to everyone who came out to support us for our Fall Fry! We held raffles for a 50/50, two ($50) Casey's Gift cards, a Realtree Gift Set, and a CVA 350 Legend. The winning number for the 350 Legend was 50.

There are still some tickets available for the Rix Thermal Monocular for $10 per ticket (only 50 to be sold). If you are interested, please contact Tom 309-261-7787.

This weekend is our 2nd Sunday Activities- we look forward to seeing you there!

Our Fall Fry is this Saturday!!!

We will be raffling a 350 Legend Takedown & a Rix Thermal Monocular at $10 per ticket (limited tickets sold!). The 50/50 raffle will be $1 per ticket.

**Reminder that this event is open to the public. SSC currently does not accept credit/debit cards**

Fall Fry Volunteer Needs:
- Thursday, October 30th from 3PM-5PM, club cleanup/fry prep.
- Saturday, November 1st from 2PM-9PM, Fall Fry.
- Sunday, November 2nd from 9AM-12PM, club cleanup.

Additional Volunteer info:
Katrina has placed sign up clipboards in the bar room on the information tables. These clipboards contain all of the upcoming volunteer opportunities and relevant information for each- please take a look and sign up if you are able.

Members- reminder that Dues are coming up. Dues can be paid anytime through the year, but must be submitted to an Officer by November 30th! They can also be mailed to: Secor Sportsman's Club, PO Box 115, Secor IL 61771. Dues are $125 per year.
