OFFICIAL LEAGUE STATEMENT: 2026 Roster & Bylaw Compliance
From: The Board of Directors, Sebring-West Branch Baseball League
As we prepare for the 2026 season, the Board of Directors is committed to providing a structured and fair environment for every player. To achieve this, our administration is prioritizing strict adherence to the Sebring-West Branch Bylaws. Operating by the book ensures that every child receives the playing time and instruction they deserve.
BYLAW: ROSTER LIMITS
- Section VII (w) & VIII (g): No more than 12 players per team (13 in extreme cases).
- Section VI (f): The league is considered "full" when all teams have at least 12 players each.
We have received questions regarding why certain rosters remain unchanged. Our bylaws were written specifically to encourage team stability for the sake of player development.
BYLAW: TEAM CONSISTENCY
- Section VIII (j): A manager has the explicit right to "freeze his entire team".
- Section VIII (e): This exists to achieve "optimal player development and overall player retention".
All current managers have exercised this right as permitted under Section VIII.
Following this rule is not a matter of favoritism; it is a matter of following the long-standing governing documents of this league.
Our Due Diligence
To find a home for our 13u baseball players, we have exhausted every avenue to find these athletes a place to play:
* External Outreach: We contacted Salem Baseball League, Alliance Hot Stove Baseball League and Stark County Baseball Alliance.
* Governing Body: We requested a waiver from the SCBA to split these players across divisions to include lower age division (12U), which was denied.
* Recruitment: We utilized public outreach to try and find the additional players needed for a second viable team.
* We attempted to work with the families to get the additional players needed.
The Path Forward
To provide an opportunity for these seven players, the Board has agreed to reopen registration exclusively for this group. If we can secure the necessary players to reach a viable roster size and identify a coach for the season, the League will officially sanction this additional team.
We are committed to a new era of accountability. We must follow the rules we have in place to ensure a fair and sustainable league for all current and future participants.
Signed,
The Sebring-West Branch Baseball League Board of Directors
